Ah but will you write more than 160 characters?

Excellent Idea Mon

Have you thought of finding someone you can mentor by letter, that could be an interesting experience?

What if we need you urgently, where are the stables for the courier to change horses

Talking of couriers, how about on the 365th day at midnight we arrange a forum leg powered relay and see how far we can get a letter to travel

I wonder what the point of it is? Use social media or don't. It's your choice. 365 days? I went 40 years without using it.

Wise words NLR.

Oh no, hang on....EVERYONE went without using it before it was actually available for use, obviously.

I miss getting letters.  My sister and I used to write to each other when she left to go to Uni.  She was only 3 miles up the road, but getting a letter in the post is great.  Good luck with it Mon

Going back further, I've decided to employ a runner to take verbal messages between me and my friends. Any applicants from here?

Social media makes it easier to get laid. In fact that was it's original use.

I think you'll find it quite a liberating experience Mon. I see the benefits of social media but I also think it has negatives.

I miss getting letters, I think the last ones I remember were from my uni days when my maiden name was Cumming and I lived in a place called Pennycomequick.

I used to encourage everyone to write to me there.

or blogging about it?

Don't be silly skotty - she's keeping a diary!

With a little lock on it and everything!

Is that the voice of experience speaking?

What's next, a year without electricity or gas? how about a year without toilet paper.

On the plus side Mon, you'll have a year without morons.

14/11/2013 at 15:42

Out of interest - what made you want to try or go 365 days without social media? And what do you count as social media? Facebook/twitter/forums?

I don't think there's any guarantee of that. I come across them every day on the Underground.
