Accident in Honolulu

Been wondering why there's no World Champs finisher time for our club-mate, he was one of the favourites for his ag. Just heard that at 30km on the bike course, a car drove out of a side road on the right, Horst tried to avoid him but at 40km an hour not easy. He crashed into the side of the car. Result - 3 broken ribs, a day in an American hozzie, and his World Champs out of the window.
I hope they threw that driver in jail and tossed the key into the ocean!

being the tough old fella that he is (M65), Horst is now on his way to Kona with his wife to watch the IM next weekend.

blimey IW that is awful, as you say I hope that they threw the driver in jail for that. Glad to hear that he is okay now though.

thing is, he's a tough competitor but not as young as he used to be, might take him quite a while to heal up. From all accounts the driver was totally in the wrong, shouldn't even have been there let alone not observing the right of way.
