Or can it be a different combo? Specifically running and swimming but NOT biking.

Biathlon? Skiing and shooting!

Pentathlon, Heptathlon and Decathlon also never use a bike

Tetrathlon uses a pony I believe.

I assume thats a George Michael-esque joke, but I dont get it....

also aquabike - swim/bike but no run

21/02/2013 at 15:50

the thing is in this country I dont trust not getting run over by a car ........ also the hassle factor of a bike, whereas running or swimming requires minimal equipment and youre good to go!

And cold water doesnt scare me ......... I'll happily do a lap of the Serpentine right now.

Where can you find aquabike events? I wouldn't mind having a go at that!

tah dah......http://www.trispiritevents.com/News/The-Owler-Half-Tri-Comes-to-Kent.html

me and Petal are the BTF officials for that day.....

there aren't many around and most are low key tacked onto normal tris for those who may have running injuries so gives them a chance to compete.  usually don't get many entries.

also don't forget winter triathlon - ski/bike/run

also just remembered - O to O race in Sweden - http://www.otillo.se/

that's a run/swim/run/swim..(repeat 17 times) across a chain of small islands - pretty tough as it's 66km in total with 10km of swimming/54km of running

Ooh, that sounds good. My knee is knackered, so perfect for me! Ta FB
