How did the session go Rio? I have been thinking about delving into triathlons for a while, but I'm not that good a swimmer. I got overtaken by a Cardiff Tri biker this morning on the way to work, managed to keep up with him for all of about 30 seconds!
Alan the session was brilliant. They were really helpful and friendly. I cant wait to go back again on Thursday (wish I could do the Tuesday as well)
Come along you wont be left out. There are different lanes for different abilities and I was in the slowest lane. Got loads of help though already with my technique. I cant praise them enough.
Rio I train with Cardiff Tri. It's a fab club with loads of friendly people. Who did you meet down there? I'm currently on 'maternity leave' so will hopefully see you soon!
Really glad to hear that you enjoyed yourself, we've got a new coach that I haven't met yet so looking forward to meeting him. Hope Anne and Laurie looked after you, guess that's who you were training with!
I'm hoping to go training in the next couple of weeks after I've had a couple of trial sessions (I had a c-section 7 weeks ago) so hopefully see you soon!
Hi Janie. You will have to forgive me but I am hopeless with names. I was in the slow lane with Laurie and he is fab but also met a few of the others too. The coach is brilliant and has given me loads of help already.
I am only going on a Thursday at the moment as I run on Tuesday nights (though I expect as the next season starts I will be doubling up then)
Be good to meet you too but take care. You are very brave getting back into things so soon after a C section.
Don't worry Rio, I'm definitely trying to take it easy as I don't want to end up injured as soon as I get back into everything! Concentrating more on the bike and swim at the mo as there's less likelihood of injury. There's a few physios and doctors in the club so I'm sure they'll be on my back if I'm being silly!
Just really glad to hear you had a good time, think I'll be training on a Thursday at the mo too as it's easier with putting Ted to bed. Tuesday nights tend to be very busy as it's an earlier session so it's nicer to train when it's a bit quieter.
Don't know if you use Facebook at all as there is a Cardiff Tri group on there. Bizarrely it's under Common interest - Wine!!! Think that says something about the level of alcohol consumption in the club....
