I know this is still a long way off, but a few people did mention, that due to family commitments etc., a reasonable amount of notice would be good! So I thought I’d throw a few dates out there to do a recce of the course:

April 27th or 28th

May 4th or 5th

June 9th

If you’re interested, I suggest meeting in Henley around 10:00ish for coffee, then a gentle lap of the course and then more coffee and cakes !! We could possibly cycle most of the run course as well I think.

run course is a bit stony Rafi, not sure I'd love to ride it on my road bike

can do April 27th/28th

can't do May 4th/5th as No2 son has a diving competition

june 9th ok as well I think

I think that there will be alternate dates proposed for trial rides and recces.

I can probably do June 9th, but the other weekends clash with stuff (Stratford marathon, and a decorating weekend before I swan off to Cotswolld 113).

Fraggle. I don't think that you'll get lost on the run. It looks like 3+ miles out and back, done 4 times. Sore feet might be an issue if it is stony.

I know Blisters - i did the Half last year   worst bit is going over the bridge when your knees are knackered

Hi Raf - good on ya for kickin' this off. I was going to start the ball rollin' early when I got back from Lanza but you've beaten me to it. I'll check dates when I get back home but suffice to say I am definitely up for it.

Don't think I can do any of those dates sadly. A Saturday is best for me - I'm very awkward like that.

Possibly June 9th for me. I can't do the others. Keen to come but we've got a lot of family stuff coming up so I may not even get there on the 9th.

I'm hoping to get a look at the Henley course next weekend but if I do I'll be over there first thing (7.30am ish)

I would like too come if possible I'm free on all the above dates, I don't think I'm racing any of those days... I assume its cool that I bring my TT bike?

as long as you don't mind us mere mortals on road bikes ?

I can make April and June. Coffee and cake sounds good. Do I have to bring my bike as well?

Skip the bike straight to the pub?

I'd be up for a recce and maybe bring a friend from my tri club. The April and May dates look ok (need to check with the Boss) but I'm racing on 9th June.

Scuba - the more the merrier!

Jamie - TT bike's fine, althouigh not the best for riding in groups, but def no twat hats allowed  (and that goes for Barley and Cat as well! )

Will keep on top of this thread, may be able to come. What sort of distance? (Assume it's a multi lapper and not the full 112!)

15/03/2013 at 18:56

About 37 miles Dusty. Unless you want to do 112 of course.

Hmm, officially allowed out on bike up to 40 mins at moment, hopefully that will go up a bit by May/June. Just goggled it, one lump going up to 13% (like Crocknorth Soupy). Will try and make one of them to say hello.

15/03/2013 at 19:07

Yep the lump is very much like Crocknorth but I think goes on a bit longer althought the  road sign says 10% to lull you in.

Dusty - a lap is a tadge under 37 miles and there's plenty of teas shops we pass several times, if you fancied doing most of it, but missing out the 'big' hill (still think its easier than Whitedown )

I cannot in all conscience miss out the big hill. My kudos would be ruined. LOL. 37 sounds orsum, will really try my best to get myself sorted for it.

Two laps would be a good middle ground I think.... I would be up for anything but edging towards 3....I mean 2... Seriously though 2 the last lap hurts!
