I didn't say I wasn't scared Just stupid !

Bala was scary all the time on the bike cos of the side winds, and driving rain and freezing temp

I could't tie my running shoe laces in T2 and my hands were blue at T2 out.. My OH went spare when she saw them

I've been up towards 50mph but not quite there, about 46/47 mph. You have to know your brakes are gonna work!!!

And I'm not too macho to admit that I was crapping myself, especially when you start thinking that your only contact with the ground is two thumbnail size pieces of rubber!!

It is fecking great though!!

Oh but going over a cattle grid at that speed is no fun

Le Terrier Sportif in The Trough of Bowland a couple of years back... Long long down hill over the moors, You could see for miles (no cars in sight), So got stuck in and got to 50... and then saw the cattle grid..... Took days for the sphincter to go back to normal !!!

Closing your eyes and praying helps to. I’ve managed 43 miles on a road only know because there was one of those speed camera things by the side of the road. I’m very carp on a racing bike and can’t work out how to use ever of the posh bike computer thingy’s I have.

There is a flashing 30 mph sign on the way into our village, I see it as a matter of pride to set it off when I come back from a training spin !

Oh yes I get that too, I never actually get to hear the full insults but I gauge from the aggressive looks on their faces that they are not offering words of encouragement
