Sea swim definite. There are actually some cheeky hills along the coast. One of the Uk's top 100 cycling climbs is in West Runton. For the best part one would expect it to be flat though.
Ive not seen any routes or other details yet.

after a sleeples night .... I failed to get up for my early morning swim

Morning all - back on it after a week off post HM. Fink and swim smooth books digested and a training plan in place to officially commence monday. I took 16 weeks of the competitive Fink plan and merged it with my tried and tested beginner 16 week full marathon run plan. Rearranged all the days to suit my work shifts and added the swim and cycle parts from the fink plan. By the time I've completed it (at the end of January) I will be 2 weeks off the part where Fink timetables an olympic distance triathlon. I've booked on the Manchester Marathon in April and plan to do the 100mile nottinghamshire bike ride in July... leaving me plenty of time to improve my swimming and try some triathlon distances in the spring/summer time. My only issue is - I don't have the ability to complete even the first Fink swim drill.. so I suppose that can be my long term swim goal! Need a bike, wetsuit, turbo trainer, cadence monitor, sport counter...etc. from Santa

Just been for a run.  On holiday in the Highlands this week and it is a stunningly beautiful place to be.  Weather is fab too.
When am I going to remember that I always hate the first 15 minutes of a run?

10/10/2012 at 11:28

Hey, enjoy those 15mins... All I'm allowed at the moment! Nice you're back on your feet bird.
Don't worry Splat, didn't even understand the swim drills let alone be able to complete them!

re: Anglian - Yes - it will be a sea swim and although everyone thinks Norfolk is flat, Cromer and area is very hilly. I've not seen the course but according to Simon the organiser it will be a tough one.....

10/10/2012 at 13:13

I remember several nasty hills when I've rode around Cromer.

I'm definitely doing this event, even though I said no IM until 2014...

WW - I didn't sleep either so didn't get up for my early morning run

splat - wow, now that is well organised maybe I should think about doing something like that.

Norfolk is windy too, isn't it?

Had a fab weekend in Budepest. The food, beer and bubbly was very good and very cheap. The marathon was really well organised, I just couldn't get my head around the peeps doing the relay, there was teams of  3 and 5 each doing a leg. The only good thing though, was each time I passed a relayist it did put a smile on my face, knowing I was still faster than them and I was doing the whole thing! 4hr 10 min, including an unscheduled stop at Burger king for a quick pee (darn site better than a porta loo!)  not bad considering I did bugger all training for it!

MC - just keep going. Don't think about 26 miles, just focus on the next one or two. You'll do it

Great training everyone.

2nd run in my half marathon training tonight.

Swam 1.3 miles, all FC last night. Still slow but still doing FC

Used the bike for work two days in a row now. Knee is holding up fine. Will go for a longer ride on Saturday.

Now signed up for a 40+ off road cycle at the end of the month. Couldnt resist. Did the 25 mile version last year & thoroughly enjoyed it.

Heres the link if any Norfolkers fancy it.

WW - I am doing Rutland Water. 7 hour cut off so I should get round in time.

hopefully I will have the energy for a swim tonight, but the lane swim doesn't start till 6:50, so might be huddled under the duvet by then....
