Another Ironman journey
I shall be inspecting the underside of my duvet
I shall be heading down to see my granny and other member's of clan Cake. I don't think Sarah understands what deepest suffock is like yet so expect a few "is this right?" type threads in the clubhouse over the weekend.
Holgs If you do like it sure I can reconmend some dirty weekend type races for you.
SD see how you feel tomorrow. If not adrenaline will get you round next wek. Good luck. Which half are you doing?
SD - I am also at Norwich, and I also have man flu. I'm having a rest day. I'll see how I am in the morning but if I don't feel 90% well I'll have another rest day.
Remember it takes 2 weeks for your body to adapt to any training benefits so it's too late to do anything for Norwich anyway!
My training for the Norwich half isn't going too well either. I'll be hobbling over the line I think!
SD - don't run tomorrow, just concentrate on getting better so you can actually run next week
determination will get you through, and if you can do 9 miles you can do a hm
When you have a cold/flu, wait until the day you `feel` ready to train/better, don`t train that day but do the next day. Training when you are not well just prolongs the illness.
SD .. the guys are rightyou can do more harm than good at this stageRest now and you will benefit next week
SD as everyone else has said rest up.
A good rule of thumb for tapering for marathons and i dont see why it wouldnt apply to 1/2 M as well is dont run longer in miles than you have days left till the race.
i.e max of 7 miles 1 week before the race, 14 miles 2 weeks before etc.
You're a busy bunch
For various reasons, I've had a week with no training at all and it looks as if next week may not be much better, although I'll probably manage a couple of hours of something. Ho-hum. I'm just rolling with it, no point in stressing about things outwith my control. I'm sure the rest will leave me refreshed and raring to go........................
Most certainly Nursey .... now is not the time to be stressing over missed sessionsI read somewhere by some wise person that these early stages are not 'training' they are 'exercise'. Get out there and do what you canTomorrow I am going to play out on my bike with Coach Barlos, I think it could be a chilly one
Are there any nurses on this thread? I'm very poorly...
It'll cost you...........................
He's a bloke ....there cant be anything majorly wrong Cod liver oil and malt?
It's far more serious than that
