Another Ironman journey
It's been a while since I rode at night, but maybe I will again soon. It's nice when you're wrapped up warm and have a good light. Like a guilty pleasure.
1hr in the pool and 2 in the gym for me today - just a little matter of a night shift to go before I can sleep it all off tho !
One hour beasting in the pool, loosened the legs up nicely!
Nice one Tim!8 hrs to go and I am flagging already
SD - you're just getting silly now.....
I definatly think my garmin HR monitor is faulty, heart rate recorded on run with garmin at peak intensity was constand around 240 ish for a few mins, Last night with karrimmor cheapo HR monitor on the bike I couldn't get over 160. going to wear the karrimoor on a run tonight to test.
How d'ye get on with the HRM TB?
Run track session tonight. 400m with 60s rest, then 50s etc down to 20s, then back up the rest periods. It amazes me how much distance we rack up on a track session;even though the reps were only 3600m, we did over 10km in total.
Oh - and I won the club TD Tri award at the annual awards night!
Badger, download it and clear the memory. Worked on mine!
Oo its a cold one tonight, Brick done, first ride in the dark, was quite enjoyable. Then went to the pool to do a swim but the pool is closed because of an "incident" maybe I should leave the swimming for a week just incase
40 min run for me ... just before coming in to work for a night I dont normally do anything but veg between nights so it made a nice change and I kind of enjoyed it
Am off to hospital to get the stiches taken out after my ankle op some two weeks ago. Hopefully I'll be able to get back on the turbo over the weekend although I will need to stay away from running (other than aqua work) for at least a couple more weeks.
Two weeks of core work and TRX training has become somewhat tiresome.
Good news ID, hope it goes well.
Bit of advice for a bike numpty ... I'm signed up for a 65 mile sportive on 16th December (Cirencester). Never done more than abuot 35 miles on a bike, would I be daft to go and do this? Still keen.
You'll be fine Tim. Furthest i'd gone before my first century ride was 70ish miles.
Wrap up warm and make sure you have overshoes though.
Great news ID, dont rush back into training too quick though !
As the forgetful badger i can be i ran out the door last night with garmin on and neither HR monitor. Doh..Although after sundays long run and a hard session Mon and Tues my legs were really heavy so may not have been the best test. I have downloaded all garmin data today and cleared the memory. Spin on the bike tonight so i'll try to wear both monitors.
ID - that's great news
cat - well done
TB - sometimes I have a great session then realise I didn't even press start on my garmin - that always annoys me
Nice progress Brit!No time for anything between work and sleep today so I get a rest day SD .. no better or worse for the run but I do enjoy a crisp, dark evening run anyway !!
