Makes sense, but I seem to be focussing on just the side I am breathing on for the full stroke. Also, I seem to drift off while swimming, sort of day dream then all of a sudden think 'technique technique' I am alternating my breathing side every length or couple of lengths so each side is getting some work, just not at the same time

I do find swimming quite metronomic .. I dont think there is too much wrong with that, if you have a good basic stroke then you are just finding efficiency. If you need to build technique then use drills but keep them short so that you *can* focus rather than drfit off after 400m or so!

Meldy - accidental really. I incorporated an hour run into my commute this morning. Having a very busy day with high powered meetings ( don't know why I'm involved ) when mate emailed and said "Do you fancy a lunch run on the trail around campus?" lovely day so said yes.

And have to get home, will take me approx 20-30 mins running or 40 mins on the bus. Although very heavy snow here now and settled, so could be fun.

Ah ok .. I just wondered if it was part of a cunning plan

Snow expected around 8pm here and then swiftly turning to slush and a massive hike in temperatures by tomorrow and Sunday which is nice

Precisely.

Seriously, I thought you were being coached this year?

Am I right in thinking it's High 5 that's provided at Outlaw?  And if it is, which variety?

Yes it is ... variety will prob be announced closer to the time as I think it has differed over the years

S'normally High5 2:1. Last year it was citrus burst *shudder*

It will be a while before I can ever drink that again...

I actually dont mind what flavour it is on the day ....

Meldys tip for the day, take some tictacs with you on the bike/run, a mouthful of them feels like you've cleaned your teeth half way and takes all that citrus/drink flavour away

Nice tip Melds. I'm normally sick of sweet stuff after a few hours.

Evening all, sounds like theres being a lot of top notch training going on today.

11 hours for week 1 Holgs, good effort.

Was hoping to get out on the road bike tomorrow but looking like a big white dumping coming overnight, so will probably be a MTB again. All though temperature should be shooting up the next couple of days to melt all the freaking ice away.

Crap week training for me, missed Tuesday's NEWT swim cos of snow, in London yesterday for meetings so did nothing.  Couple of runs, three sessions on turbo.  Aiming for a long run and a long bike this weekend.

Like you all I'm hoping to be out on the bike tomorrow, rain washed quite a bit of the snow away, but quite frozen still. Looking forward to training outside.
