Lindt dark chocolate with wasabi.

Weird, but so yummy.

"Some of you may already know, but just to confirm, you will all be starting the Virgin London Marathon from the Green Start, along with any celebrity runners. "

Had the above note from the VLM organisers today, bonus.

Nice one Donkey!

I swam too, shoehorned in a 45 minute session before work - same again tomorrow with a 30 min run before hand if I can get out of bed in time

Nursey, can you not buy the old model shoes any more?

50 mins in the pool, 70 lengths.  Oh, and Ask Meldy triumphs yet again - no moisturiser, no leaky goggles

Damn I'm good

Swim for me too - no counting today, just swimming

Today is "3 run Friday" - an hour at above normal effort at 6am this morning. A 30 minute ankle deep trail run in the snow at lunch, and in a hour it will be a 20 min, gentle, slip, slide in the snow home.

90 min run tomorrow and a 3hr bike on Sunday to round out an 11hr week for week 1.

Nurse - hope my being there didn't spoil the bath and the wine

Managed another decent swim today, 100 lengths in 1hr2mins. It felt good, pace ok breathing ok, but I have noticed that whichever side I breathe on I am concentrating on that side of my stoke, which seems to be ok, however I realised I have no idea what I am doing with the other arm... As though I can only apply some sort of technique to one side, anyone else had this or am I just sounding a little bit mental?

Holgs ... explain the theory behind that one please?

BP .. the obvious (to me) is to focus on the other arm when you are breathing, swimming is a mind game

Makes sense, but I seem to be focussing on just the side I am breathing on for the full stroke. Also, I seem to drift off while swimming, sort of day dream then all of a sudden think 'technique technique' I am alternating my breathing side every length or couple of lengths so each side is getting some work, just not at the same time

I do find swimming quite metronomic .. I dont think there is too much wrong with that, if you have a good basic stroke then you are just finding efficiency. If you need to build technique then use drills but keep them short so that you *can* focus rather than drfit off after 400m or so!

Meldy - accidental really. I incorporated an hour run into my commute this morning. Having a very busy day with high powered meetings ( don't know why I'm involved ) when mate emailed and said "Do you fancy a lunch run on the trail around campus?" lovely day so said yes.

And have to get home, will take me approx 20-30 mins running or 40 mins on the bus. Although very heavy snow here now and settled, so could be fun.

Ah ok .. I just wondered if it was part of a cunning plan

Snow expected around 8pm here and then swiftly turning to slush and a massive hike in temperatures by tomorrow and Sunday which is nice

Cheers meldy, it is something I need to start doing(drills). Will look to do some next time over shorter distances...

Am I right in thinking it's High 5 that's provided at Outlaw?  And if it is, which variety?

Yes it is ... variety will prob be announced closer to the time as I think it has differed over the years
