Another Ironman journey
As long as you were making someones life a misery then that sure counts Sossige !!
Swim swum this afternoon, 1hr15min on turbo tonight
I am now off for a hot bath with Holgs and a glass of wine
Nice to have your back IY, your spreadsheet is both a source of joy and pain now I'ma acutally using it.
Joy because it'd dead easy and works like a charm.
Pain because it points out in no uncertain terms that I've been a slacker of late, although at least I can tell I'm an all round slacker rather than avoiding any one thing!
Speaking of that sheet, the Budgie Lewis told me it had some errors so be sure to cross-reference with the Fink book now and again to make sure you're doing the right workout. He might have an error free version that he fixed himself.
Meldy - Swam at lunch and spent much of the 2k really trying to focus on engaging my core throughout the stroke.
"pull in the belly button, enagage core, head lower in the water & take a breath in the bow wave" - simple really
Things were much easier 10 - 15 years ago when I ran nothing but 200m & 400m on the track!
1 hour treadmill run done.
I think I may have to do some investigating of running shoes, mine are rubbing my instep (left foot only). I had this problem with a few pairs I tried when I first started running, and it took me a while to find the right pair - Mizuno. However, when I bought my current pair, whaddyaknow, the design of the Mizunos had been tweaked for the latest model and I couldn't wear them.Maybe I just need to try some different insoles. Or tape up my foot, although I do put a dressing on it and it doesn't seem to help.
Lindt dark chocolate with wasabi.
Weird, but so yummy.
Nice one Donkey! I swam too, shoehorned in a 45 minute session before work - same again tomorrow with a 30 min run before hand if I can get out of bed in timeNursey, can you not buy the old model shoes any more?
50 mins in the pool, 70 lengths. Oh, and Ask Meldy triumphs yet again - no moisturiser, no leaky goggles
Damn I'm good Swim for me too - no counting today, just swimming
Today is "3 run Friday" - an hour at above normal effort at 6am this morning. A 30 minute ankle deep trail run in the snow at lunch, and in a hour it will be a 20 min, gentle, slip, slide in the snow home.
90 min run tomorrow and a 3hr bike on Sunday to round out an 11hr week for week 1.
Nurse - hope my being there didn't spoil the bath and the wine
Holgs ... explain the theory behind that one please?BP .. the obvious (to me) is to focus on the other arm when you are breathing, swimming is a mind game
I do find swimming quite metronomic .. I dont think there is too much wrong with that, if you have a good basic stroke then you are just finding efficiency. If you need to build technique then use drills but keep them short so that you *can* focus rather than drfit off after 400m or so!
Meldy - accidental really. I incorporated an hour run into my commute this morning. Having a very busy day with high powered meetings ( don't know why I'm involved ) when mate emailed and said "Do you fancy a lunch run on the trail around campus?" lovely day so said yes.
And have to get home, will take me approx 20-30 mins running or 40 mins on the bus. Although very heavy snow here now and settled, so could be fun.
Ah ok .. I just wondered if it was part of a cunning planSnow expected around 8pm here and then swiftly turning to slush and a massive hike in temperatures by tomorrow and Sunday which is nice
