Another Ironman journey
SD, great running mate! I'm off to recce the Blaenavon Tri bike route tomorrow.
Great job SD! I thought you were some fat chain smoking bloke?
Just did 6.46 miles in an hour on a hotel dreadmill. Kiddo's ice hockey team lost 1-0 in their first game. It's competitive so no guarantees on playing time so my kid is pretty upset that she didn't get to play much. She's the youngest on the team, though. Not sure how to handle it to be honest.

Finished my turbo session, went for a sprint finish and got up to 65.5 km/h... Managed to avoid a heart attack and then had 15 min cool down Overall 52km covered
how do you calibrate the speed on your turbo Gas?
Did 90 mins hard on the turbo in our garage, went to go in the house and discovered Mrs CTP had gone out for a few hours and locked me out of the house. Unscheduled brick session in the sleet and rain ensued as I ran round town looking for a spare key!
Heavy rain, freezing cold, went out on bike to try the Blaenavon Tri course ... feck me those hills are killer, made even worse with the torrents of water and road surface all but washed away in many places. Thinking that really isn't a route for a road bike. I'll admit, I turned around and came home, did about 15 miles in all. Hardest ride I've ever done -- froze and lost several bits of my anatomy.
Hot coffee makes everything better.
Yesterday was a good day. Before breakfast: 90min turbo in the garage before going straight out for a brick run of 30 mins at a steady pace. After lunch: Train to London. Evening: Kreftwerk at the Tate Modern with my 60 somethings Father. Smiles all round.
I had hoped to go to the pool early evening for a 2k endurance swim (WU 300m - Main 15 x 100m at race pace +10s with 15 secs rest between reps - Cool Down - 200m). Remember, I'm only going half distance this year (Sept) so I'm not needing to put too much into the pool so early in the build phase of things.
That said. I'm quite pooped from yesterday so I may give it a miss or simply swim a slow and steady recovery work out.
(Edited for spelling errors)
Good training all.
Some how i wound up walking the 5k cross country course my daughter did today.
As she's 13 she was supposed to be in the Junior group, however, due to lack of numbers they bumped her up to the intermediate category (14 to 15 years) to make up that teams numbers, which seemed a bit unfair to me. However, she still came 2nd
So, thats the Norfolk ACF trials done, she now does the Regional in March, a decent result there and it's off to the Nationals. She will run as a Junior going forward apparently.
SD - well done to your daughter, that's brill
