Good running IY

========================

Ayup all

Week 7 of 20 done and dusted for me.

1min short of 15hours so slightly above target. I felt like I had a solid week but with very little running due to an ankle injury that is troubling me.

FOR THIS POINT IN MY PLAN, THE STATS ARE

2013 Actual – 97hrs 41

2013 Planned – 86hrs 30
2012 Actual – 41hrs 27
2011 Actual – 80hrs 50

This week my aim is for a slightly bigger week again PLUS my first proper bike rides with 45miles planed Tuesday and 60-80miles planed Saturday.

Also ... I need to get in and see the physio about my ankle

Looks like i am totally out of action. Left leg just above the foot is now all swollen up and hurts like a ........

Started hurting a bit last wednesday during my swim, then even more so during the 5k swim.

think i have some kind of tedonites, aggravated in yesterdays swim. Knew my training had been going too well.

Swim with a pull buoy for a while Sossige .. stay positive

29/04/2013 at 18:24

Andy, sorry to hear that mate.  Had it checked out by a physio?  Might just be a case of a couple of day's rest.  You've done a marathon and a 5k swim in a week!

I did a mile of drills and short intervals today ~

Tomorrow plan is slightly fluid but I am hoping will include a run at some point

29/04/2013 at 21:16

Sorry to hear you're injured Andy. Like Will said, it's best to know for sure what's wrong. I've gone down to Sportlink before with an injury and they diagnosed it accurately.

Hope it sorts itself out soon!

29/04/2013 at 21:21

SD - yep - go and see a physio.

29/04/2013 at 22:05

I'll give it a couple of days before spending money on physio opinions.

Ice,heat,compression, elevation first

Sportlink is a good shout Budgie.

Ouch SD! Hope you're not out of action for too long.

Had a great swim session with the tri club tonight, really enjoyed it.  We did a timed 400m, first time I've done that, 7:43.  I didn't get a chance to speak to our coach, so does that sound good, bad or indifferent?!

29/04/2013 at 22:43

Nursey, sounds good to me.  I haven't done a timed 400 in a while, but I'd be chuffed with that.

30/04/2013 at 01:02

Nursey, I'm not a speedy swimmer by any means but the best I've ever done in a 400m is about what you did.  Congrats!

30/04/2013 at 07:16

Well done nursey, good time. I think the 400 i did was just over 10 minutes

Set up a fantasy  cycling league for the Giro d Italia that commences at the weekend

I've had to ease off over the past few weeks due to knee pain.  My left knee is playing up again and having had a Microfracture procedure on it back in '98 I'm a little worried more of the same is required.

I'm in-between Xrays, surgeon visits and MRI scans as I type.  I'll know more by the end of Friday.  Until then, I'll keep taking things nice and easy.

Good job on the swimming NR!

Nursey thats not a bad time at all .... keeping that pace consistent is the next step

I have done lifting, shifting, shopping and chores today which is fine as that is what I had planned... 3 hr bike probably tomorrow with a cheeky little run off the back

30/04/2013 at 21:43

Glad someones training. Just going to take another week off myself to hopefully fully mend.

The way i see it Is.

I followed Fink bang on for 12 weeks, deviated to do the marathon so that meant i did more than the planned running. I also threw in the swimathon & another long swim session that wasnt part of the original plan. So, technically i'm probably not that far off what i should have done.

just need to convince myself thats not a load of old rolox now

SD - can you bike OK?
