Great report SD, it was quite a strange experience reading it - I had butterflies when you were describing all the pre-race prep, and got quite emotional at the end!

Morning All

I'm a happy Holgs, after months of rehab with the physio (
much more to come ) he reckoned we needed to test the knee to see if it would
break on a run, so last night for the first time since March I ran a very easy
5k, concentrating on engaging my core and running tall. I loved it and there was
no pain - have to give it 48hrs to see if any develops, and will run again
before next fridays session.

All this pilates stuff I've been doing has
really helped, will continue to work on rehab, not get carried away and bide my
time.

Oh yeah and followed it up with a club interval swim
session.

And no DOMS today on the easy
spin into to work.

Happy Days.

 Andy brilliant mate.

Other andy "At the top of the hill you were rewarded with fantastic views & a bunch of guys in bikinis & Afros partying and cheering you on."  Was this anyone we know? Just had a mental picture and Dave the ex spartan, holgs and Barlist for some reason and not can't get it out of my head.

Good to here your on the mend Holgs. Whats the next IM event we are all going to do?

Managed to remove one whole big toe nail & half the other one now. Also burst both toe blood blisters so feet feeling a lot more comfortable now. Off to the quacks on Tuesday to see if they can be tidied up a bit more

09/08/2013 at 17:21

You all are invited to Ironman Coeur d'Alene for 2014

Great to read about all the progress/race reports.  I'm 16 days away from Ironman #3.

Holgs wore the mankini on the Saturday

2015 IM for me i  think, quite fancy the look of South Africa.

There is none branded one in northern Irland I'm quite liking the look of. Sorry can't remember the name of it but Darkness is doing it next week so hopefully he can.
