I'll be there to cheer you on (and laugh when you're up to your Sandy Shaws in freezing cold murky water), and have warm milk and toasted muffins waiting at the finish.

Anyone else fancy a trip to the stunningly beautiful Borders to see Gas get cold, wet and utterly trashed?

The plank...! the plank...! make him walk the plank screamed the pirates from the deck... Macscully stood at the edge of the plank and calmly slipped on his goggles, 3.86km to land he thought, coincidence? Would “she” be waiting where he left her when he made it to the beach?

I can swim a bit

I can bike a bit less

My running is well not really “running” not sure what it is really but I know it’s slow...

You lot seem a nice bunch so hope you don’t mind if I tag along? hopefully you dont send me off the plank...

"I've never been called a tart before! How very rude..."

I've called you a tart loads of times - you mean you don't listen to me?? I'm very hurt!!

Although I must confess, the new bike I need for IM Nice, which will be purchased as soon as the 2014 models are out (bike number 5) will have Di2s    Now that is tarty, but I've wanted some every since we saw that MacLaren Specalized at the bike show (need? want? - same thing)

And macscully - welcome to the mad house  - I somehow think you might just fit it!!

Hi macsully, and welcome.

Frag, it's this.  I did it a couple of years ago, mostly great fun but I think I'll leave it to Gas and co. to get cold, wet, muddy and bruised. I'm happy to wait in the beer tent.

Go on Ultra Bookie, you know you want to.

I just found my race pics from 2011.  The smile has to be hysteria, or maybe it was frozen in place by that point

Evening all

I've gone and entered the Anglian 2014. My local long distance tri. I don't really have a clue what i'm doing. I've swam the distance before (in a pool) although I've not done much open water swimming but guess that will be fine. I've run 20 marathons and a few shorter ultras so the run should be OK. I'm a rubbish cyclist though.

I've got Suffolk coastal ultra next week (33 miles) and am doing brighton marathon. There's 16 weeks after brighton until the Anglian so the plan was to swim once a week and get on the turbo once a week up until brighton. Then drop 80% of the running and become a cyclist for 16 weeks. Think it might work?

Swim and bike twice a week and I think you might be on to something...
Then hit openwater as soon as the season starts! Dont underestimate the bike its the longest part and need to build a base, of which just sitting on the fekkin thing for 6 hrs is an endurance even im its own right!

Right how do I get my yellow flag up there ^

Good luck Spoons! I did the Anglian this year, loved it!

Good luck with the CTS next week too, I'm doing the 10k because I missed out on entries for the half or full marathon! (Not quite crazy enough to do an ultra just yet)

GoGo negotiations with OH have started... currently in for Thanet duathlon and Surrey 1/2 marathon. On wish list Vachary 1/2, cotswolds 1/2 or full... lets see. Master plan is IM South Africa 2015

Pretty sure we have met, started the ride 100 with you for HF? Power bell alarm thing on your bike???

Iron budgie - ultras are easy. Just a long easy day out!

think I might need to bike / swim more. My concern is dropping too much running before Brighton. I was hoping run fitness my get me through....

Just been to see Cirque du Soleil. Amazing. For some strange reason, I'm feeling the need to do some core work .......
