I think I've done too much bike this week and/or need to toughen up. Sudocrem is my friend just now

Turbo session done - snow still coming down so not going to risk it outside on the bike.
Does sledging count as base training?

my Paper Shop is less that 1/2m away but I made it to just under 3m by taking the long route there i.e. upto and through the next villiage then back! I then get my paper (and visit the butcher - oxtail stew now cooking ) then walk home as a cool down

2 hours on the turbo logged too. Managed to maintain aero position for 25 minutes at a time so very happy. Follows 2.6k in the pool this morning so all in all a good day.

Now I have finished the Band of Brothers box set I have been looking for entertainment to help pass the time whilst on the turbo and found this Podcast

http://competitorradio.competitor.com/

Just listened to the Crowie episode which was quite interesting. Comes across as a decent Aussie (rare, I know). Any other recommendations out there?

slipped 3 times walking to paper shop this morning. It's now ice out there.

Plus for the last 30mins it's been snowing.

Snow on ice - awesome

Should be doing a swim today but that so isn't going to happen. Cross trained moving snow instead

asda?! Seen them on Amazon & not too expensive but given how much snow/ice we get is it worth it? I can turbo instead of run, snow I can use trail shoes on (they were fine yesterday)

they were in asda recently...less than a tenner...........i have found one.....thats helpful...

i am happy with trail shoes........

just worried about tomorrow and if the leisure centre and schools are open.......if not then it will muck up the start to my week...............but it will only be week 7 so still early days

I teach and my sch never closes but it's getting there. I nearly lost the car on Friday and that really scared me. Took twice as long to get home and the road was clear and it was daylight. Staff leave at 5.15 M-Th so dark and rush hour. I don't want to be on slippy roads with lots of traffic - scary and will take forever to get home But feel guilty if I don't go in - can't win.

If I can't go in I'll happily turbo or walk across the icy slowly (warm up/cool down!) and go for a run!

As I said I cross trained clearing to car/drive around the car earlier. I may be having a snow day tomorrow at this rate

2 1/2 hours done on the towpaths, trails and cycle routes around stoke. It wasn't quick - average 9mph, but the way I see it is another 2.5 hours of saddle time. I'm sure if was road or TT it would have been a fairly speedy ride
Mind you, if it had have been road or TT I'd have been on my arse!

way I see it is snow is a LOT harder to run/ride in so therefore must be worth a lot longer in real terms!

Really well done
