So week 1 ticked off and I found it quite a nice introduction. Its actually the first time I've followed a pre-written training plan and so far I have followed fink's intermediate plan pretty closely. All the correct days with the workouts as written apart from perhaps a little less length in the pool (just doing the hour) and a little longer on the running due to using it as a form of transport to and from the pool. Going to fiddle with the rest days for around Xmas and New Year and looking forward to more!
I've also put a certain "give a, give a, give a garmin" advert on repeat in the house!
1st week was, well, tickety boo - quite pleased to have negotiated a path through 2 parents evenings, one nativity, one pi$$ up (first for, well, years), and 3 meetings after work ... mind you, I think I spent more time finding slots to train than I did actually training.
Next week sorted - just need to get a softer saddle, I think - or toughen up ... see how next week goes ...
Might look at Poolmate - can't seem to get my 910 to cooperate counting lengths
my Oh forgot that i get up early on a monday to run and didn't wake me...........so already on catch up.........
need to get out the minute the younger two leave for school now......if i am to fit in the pool and yoga with some strength and sauna between.......... i have squash tonight as crosss training............
You trying to do all your weeks training in one day Seren??
Hangover means I missed the 1hr run, but I did manage the 1hr Turbo and it was my best turbo session yet. Still Z2 but in a higher gear than usual and all felt good.
Rest day = horse riding later
Day off today so 1 hr run through the woods then a nice bike ride just over an hour, enjoyed it but my legs were tired on the cycle from the weekends efforts. I'm going to have a swim lunchtime too then take it easy this afternoon.
broke....i always try and stack up my training for the first half of the week.incase things get in the way mid week....i am always ahead rather than catchup.........just need to get out on the bike soon
nice quick 30 minute swim in the lunch hour today (50 lengths) in my new neoprene swimming trunks. its true, they do help keep your ar$e up like a pull buoy . got an early start tomorrow so it looks like it will be an even earlier dark, cold, wet run tomorrow morning...
printed off the enitre Fink schedule yesterday so i can tick off progress. One thing that struck me was that this is going to get a WHOLE LOT harder over the build and peak phases. At the moment I'm quite happily pottering along in Z1-Z2 but when he starts inserting Z4s all over the place AND lengthening the sessions then i think the pain will come...hey ho, enjoy the jogging people (while you can)
jammy dodger..............have you got the fink schedule on a single document......i would love a copy if you have.........I'm not sure if i'm following the intermediate or higher one but they look the same to start with....
I hate the swimming but gfeel so glad when the session is finished and i can tick it off my schedule.managed 98 lengths today
Managed a 0.05km distance PB in the pool today - this is my extra swim session, so just did a zombie swim. I think I'm getting better, because I was swam for less time than before, and didn't feel sicky at all
Little steps ...
jammy dodger..never look to far forward on a schedule/plan...........its a long build up and you will be fine..........
ate dinner before playing squash tonight.. felt so sick i nearly lost the first set.but my hubby failed to take advantage of the situation and i cam back to win 4-0 again..........love the cross training......whilst youngest is in cadets
NIce going Seren, remind me not to challenge you to squash
broke.we don't weven know if we do the scoring correct.......but we have our rules so its fair.......and i don't give up on a point.........he is better at me at running so i need something i can beat him at
Pixie........don't worry.30 weeks is a long time.......as i said before because of my achiliies i couldn't start anything till february and run/walking in march for my first one...........recover and do what you can at Z1.......
I had a lucky break this morning... eldest got up early as it turned out he was going to college early............meant if i got ready in 5 mins i could get out to spin class............
so spin done followed by my second swim... (slower than yesterday) and then a reward sauna....
so i have done both my swim sessions this week....no more swimming until Christmas Eve
