A very slow and social outing.
Anyone want to do a ride around the Whitton course in the summer, probably August time. A nice gentle poodle with enough stops for everyone and the emphasis on sociably getting everyone round even if we have to walk up all the mole hills.
The link to website with some info on it (including profiles!) and the ominous opening sentence:
"The Fred Whitton Challenge is a 112 mile ultra hilly (mountainous!) challenge ride over all the famous Lake District passes in a single day ride"
The ugly truth...
Would love to... but in NY for a family wedding in August
Max grad 30%, only 3950m of climbing. What a shame I'll be washing my hair that day.
How many days are you thinking of doing this over....................... nice long weekend pehaps
feck I have just looked at that link from LN just that one picture is
I think I'd rather try Alpe d'huez thanks
You've got a really odd descripton of beautiful. Maybe next year
Hills you say?
I think this may be a go-er, i'm in, (till the wife tells me i'm not)
I'd love to do this but only if some slower people are doing it.
I reckon I can do the distance (with cake on board) and can manage uphills pretty well, but am seriously pants on the downhills
and there is the small proviso of having recovered from an arthroscopy I'm having in May-ish
