I think its gonna hurt
ssssshhhh don't scare them off we almost have them insnared.
Thanks for the tip Cake, I've checked out the Royles website and they are only just over an hour from me.
I think I may have a little trip out with the plastic , it's probably going to be expensive, i need a wet suit and a bike. Flippin heck!! I'll have no excuses then
I have the bike, wetsuit etc etc just the lack of fitness
Not going to do one of those silly Ironman things - thats for crazy people
Good point. Worth waiting a month or so for the wet suit. I'll ask them in the store about when best to come back for an ex-hire suit.
I am going to get a bike though, and as a novice, I want some good advice. I'm clueless. I love my Specialized hybrid and it's done me proud, but I think it's time to get a proper bike, if I'm serious about this tri malarky
Plodder what was the Ulverston tri like and how did you get on.I am always on a low budget for buying kit,I got my bike off Winstanley bikes on the net.Really happy with my bike so far.
Roof if you stay around on these sites for to long, they begin to brainwash you.Sooner or later you might just start to think,I can do that.Running up Helvellyn is for crazy people
I went out last night for a run around Sywell Res, blowing a bloody gale, only person for miles and I thought then I am turning into a crazy person.
When i say run, I mean run/jog/walk!
Hi spongcake. Not sure if the link will work, but its a report from the local paper.
It was basically a battle against the elements. The pool swim was fine, 400m, no probs there.
But once you got out on the bike, bloody hell, it was windy !!!
It was an out and back course and in the final few miles to the turning point, we were riding straight into the wind. As an idea, it took me 53 mins to get to the turning point and 19 minutes to get back "wind assisted".
The run was along trail and beach, but was cut short due to high tides, so was only 4miles. I was treated to torrential rain during the run, I think I was wetter then when I got out of the pool
Overall, it was a really nice event, about 150 ish completed it (and yes I am on the last page of the results ). very friendly and well organised. I would recommend it.
The wind souds horrific on the outward leg, good fun on the way backcracking effort in the weather though.I think they call it character building.
Your force is working Cake theyve been out running in gale force winds
Plodder, really well done on your triathlon finish, looks like you had to fight the elements and won
Roof Gimp wrote (see)
Cake, I have always wanted to be a Pirate.............crazy people
Cheers Cake, i will be in touch weekly for a kick up the bum
The Gimp part of my name comes from being a "Geriatric Incontinent Mountain Pursuit Specialist" aka GIMPs - like minded bunch of friends who should know better - but i am the only one who does the tri thing - the others throw themselves down mountains on various bikes; so any help, advice and ass kicking is gratefully received.
I suspect a bit of a "breeze" compared to Helvellyn
