You are all living in the past, there is no BTA. We are now triathlon England, Triathlon Scottland, Triathlon Wales or Triathlon Northern Irland.

Transition in IMCH is just liek a normal race, leave your stuff next to your bike.
However, it is all numbert and you rack your wheel and not handle bar or saddle, so no chance to steel a bit of room.

ps: I wouldn't use a Garmin on a Turbo ;-)

Thanks Lars, slip of the tongue/finger there, information off the British Triathlon Organisation website NOT BTA.

I agree with you about the Garmin on the Turbo (Ive tried to use it in spin classes just for the HR and although it worked, the readouts were a mess)

When do you put your bike etc in the tx area?

Bigbob I asked about the USA and apparantly you get insurance coverage on the day, some people use Ski Card insurance as they "will bring your body home".......

Thanks Fitn40lots, plenty of time at the moment. I know another NYC based triathlete who is doing IMCH as her 10th IM so she may have some useful info. regarding insurance.

thats the same one fat buddha as coach recommended, I think I called it skicard, but comes up with same website on google search, so must be good.

Wow sounds like quite an accident you had...glad no body was required to be brought home.

problem with that accident - I had some plates put in the upper jaw I broke which recently (and after all this time) have become infected so I have to go and have them removed tomorrow under a general knockout - should be over quickly though............

Fitn40 = transition is secure - only for athletes and you rack your bike by number. Its a huge area and if it werent for the numbers you'd never find the bike. Kit goes in a bag or box underneath the bike.

Oh jeez - poor you FB !

yeh Cougs - been a bit of a shite year really to say the least!! at least it will be done and dusted quickly and anyway I can smile as otherwise I am very fit and healthy.........

I guess these things are all seen in perspective FB! Hope it's not too painful tomorrow though and that you don't get too hungry.

HOpe they sort that infection out quickly and all goes well tomorrow FB. IW amazing what you can melt down and sip through a straw...........

calves are really stiff this morning. Weight session in the gym planned for this morning.

I feel a bit panicky today about the magnitude of what is required on the day, will I fall off the bike, will I be able to cycle in a straightish line and not cause a crash, will I be able to swim with so many people around me ...........HELP, know I can do the marathon, done that, but after doing all the rest??
23/11/2006 at 15:47
Don't worry yourself, you sound dedicated and looks like you been training hard already. Like me you've not done one before so right now I can understand you maybe don't feel confident, but come June when the hard work has gone in you'll be alright.

fitn - perfectly natural to get worried now and again. as harry says, no need to worry.

or just repeat a candyism to yourself "what are you? a wannabe Ironman or Orvil the duck?". i rolled that one out now and again when i was wibbling on my long rides.
