I was considering in attempting a IM distance race, and was considering The Longest Day, but afer speaking to a few people I'm now thinking of an IM event.
Which one is best, in terms of organisation, support, feed stations, entry numbers, goody bags, t shirts etc etc.

Any of the european ironman are worth doing as they are so well supported.

Lanzarote is also good though they dont give out the best Finishers T-shirts!
And it's hard so if you consider that one then prepare for high winds, heat and hills!!!!

And it's Fast! Fast! Fast!!!

Been talking to a few people who have done it and they say it's like a disco at the finish!

I class the longest day as an IM. ok it doesnt have IM status (why should they pay for this) but it is the classic distance. And when I've completed it I'm an ironman and that's that! <folds arms>

I've met a few people who've said Austria is a great race, as regards to Longest Day,was told that the bike leg and run are a bit boring, not very scenic.

Yeah ive done the Longest day and i argree with daz, it is a good race and when you finish you are an ironman, though on the other hand if you race in europe the experiance of the whole thing is amazing!!
