Obviously there's Wind in my face but I also like the following.

"You don't need a power meter to know that you're shit on the bike"

"Just finishing is just that, just finishing -  big deal'"

"Ironman is the new Race4Life" RW Forum

and many, many more...

I tend to opt for news stories to inspire me these days.  The more relevant, topical and significant the better of course.

As you were.

The words 'cake' and 'beer' inspire me

Here's mine:

After the Transalpine run I was in poor condition,
I very nearly needed a mortician
But now I'm back in almost tip-top condition

Hope you like it. It nearly rhymes and scans and everything.

Kate Middleton Trivia

Kate Middleton will sleep on a special mattress which will be destroyed after she has used it.
She will be the only person to sleep on it.

Makes it sound like she's contagious ?

Just reading the Fink thread....reminded me of the following sage words

"No point worrying about the 2nd half of the marathon in a Ironman until you're sure you'll reach it "

Haiku:

Ironman fighters

race long into the night-time

talk mostly bollocks

Nothing to do with tri really but I like, in a take the piss kind of way -

you rest, you rust

Wasn't it Lance Armstrong who said 'winners never quit and quitters never win'?

A bit cheesy but to the point....

I'll take that "winner - winner - chicken dinner" for the next time I'm struggling.

I sing the Graham and Brown SuperFresco wallpaper ad tune of "What goes up must come down." I picture the bloke wallpapering and think that would be a worse activity to be involved in which inspires me to keep pedalling.

That's a personal fav advert super-tune!

Along with red car and the blue car...
