Feeling inspired after watching IMW, I went to my local tri track session last night.

Real wake call to how slow I am  and was way behind everyone else. I am determined to keep it up, atleast until i am not last

Need dark morning and evening inspiration guys, am finding it really hard to carry on the training as the nights draw in and the weather gets progressively worse! Any ideas/inspiration/tips would be much appreciated.

Same here but ibusually take a couple of months break from any form of orgsnised training about now and get walking, MTBing etc anything that takes my fancy gotta get the Cornish marathon out the way in November then its foot off the gas and recharge the batteries

I am a member of the local gym and find myself back in there after hardly going near the place in the summer.  

I also use the turbo a lot during the dark mornings and nights.  But we will have some great winter days when the long runs are a pleasure(ish).  I do admit to cutting down the long bikes in the winter.  I did a 2hr turbo yesterday instead of going out

I'm back trainin after IM Wales, not to to structured but get out on the bike at weekends if dry, try and swim once a week to keep it ticking over and have entered a 10 mile race in Decemberand a half marathon early next year to make sure I'm continuing the running, plus have lost 18 pounds after seeing some of my pictures from IM Wales (Fat Ba*****d)

Good weight loss indeed.

I'm back inthe gym, nadhave been for a month or two, after 3+ years away, and it;s tedious.  But just concentrating on general overall strenght and flexibility, nothing too structured.  

Gym work is supplemented by regular running, and the odd bike abd MTB, and will remain like this over winter.  Longer bike rides will start in the spring.

very strict diet

No dairy, grain, carbs or fat.

lots of lean meat/fish and fresh veg/salad/fruit

Well Done, great weight loss. I wish I had your resolve, I can manage the lots of lean meat/fish and fresh veg/salad and fruit (all yummy), but I can resist having lots of dairy, carbs and fat with them

My training is pretty pretty low key at the moment. I will start proper structured training after Christmas. I'm just doing the odd bike ride for fun (definietly NO turbo) and still trying to finally "crack" swimming (why is it so hard for me ).

The only thing I'm doing proper training for is running. For my birthday Mr Plodder got me a VO2 max test, and I am following the programme they set me from that.

 It came as no surprise to me that my aerobic base was great (should be with IM training this year), but as she put it, I'd got nothing at the top end, ie. I am a plodder!! But then I knew that

Hi Guy, just been putting the running miles in to strengthen the ankle, total miles ran last week was 23, I'm happy with that and the ankle is holding up ok. Need to get back on the bike and back into the pool.
