My annual leave for this has now been bought and booked and so I am thinking about my supporting/Sherpaing role

Do any other supporters/sherpas have any epxerience of supporting at this one ie is it poss to pop up on bike route, is the bike route closed to vehicles, good places for the run etc etc.

If the bike route is not closd, does anyone want to form a support group and rent a car so that we can get around to various places on the day?

Scrap the sherpa bit; he can fend for himeself .

Schumks, I have managed to get my parents arses down to Lanzarote for this and currently messing them up to get a car so they can drive and set some cheering spots. I will keep you posted!

I know they only come to see their grandaughter but I will explain that there are "conditions".

I understand my sherpa has plans which include watching me out of the water, going back to the hotel/villa, having brekky then a snooze by the pool for 6 hours then off down to the bars on the strip to watch the run leg, kinda jealous really, anyone want a race place?

The symes approach is the best
Apart from that teguiseis a reasonablw place to head for
The majority of the bike courseis on open roads butits one big loop

Re jthe run - find a bar....sit ad watch

Hmmmmm, i took a look at the bike course after I had posted and short of following the bike route there is not one place to go, set up camp, and see everyone a couple of times.

I might go a la Mrs Symes

I think that at the arrival at Timanfaya and Teguise are great points to see the guys but it will be a hard day at the office for supporters too. I want Sofia fresh for the marathon "espectacle" so I would like her to nap at the house.

However it would be nice to have her at least at Fire Mountain. I am lobbying hard for this but my main Sherpa may be a no show and then my parents are an unreliable lot

Schmunks, we are going to Lanza 2 weeks before (I think), so I will try and suss it out whilst D is out riding as I am tasked with driving to him with supplies.

Failing that...I'm with J

Speak to Wifey, when we went out to support a few years ago we got round a fair bit of the southern part of the course

Mrs F - he's having you on - there are garages, shops and cafes in many towns on Lanza.

Let him fend for himself while you enjoy yourself

Yea, I started training yesterday, bring it on

Anyone who's not seen the other thread, we're trying to arrange one or two Lanza training rides, would be great if a good bunch of us could meet up, build some anticipation etc
