I think I'd decided on "no" earlier in the thread, and I'm sticking with that, no tattoo for me.....
Strangely it has nothing to do with the tattoo itself, the brand etc.. but more to do with the fact that even though I loved the day and feel proud of finishing, it wasn't a life-defining moment for me.... maybe if I do another IM and race it next time I may feel different.

I have one and its rubbish. I wish i had thought harder about getting it. Its on my hip/back area so not too noticeable but if someone said that they could remove it for free, i would get rid of it. Personally, i feel its cheesy in front of triathletes and non triathletes have no idea what it is.

I had decided yes before doing it, and now I'm not so sure, but I can't work out why. Tempted by a teeny silver mdot pendant though.

I have a swimmer/biker/runner logo on my ankle, that's good enough for me. Besides, I don't think the Mdot is very attractive really.

Before I did IMA I was planning on getting one but then life interfered and I didn't get round to it. Now I'm quite glad I didn't although I'm still tempted by a swim/bike/run logo on my ankle, like IW.

I did mine after my second and after I had comitted to my third.

I really like it and it mostly brings me good comments and has started many conversations in surprising situations.

I saw a bloke at the airport with an 'anklet' of Ironman logos around his lower leg. Without looking too hard, I'd say he had about 5. Presumably he'd done 5 IMs. This was the Friday before the race and he had a bike box.

As he was obviously competing and his leg was full, I don't know where he was starting the next set. I must say, any thought of an IM tattoo was wiped away after seeing his design.

can I just add, if I were to do an IM, I would have a massive M. right across my bleeding face.

I think that tells you more about my ability to do an IM than my opinion on tattoos
