Is anyone going to start a London Christmas Social Thread

Ooops! Seems I just have

There has been mutterings about a London Christmas Social, but no-one seems to have grabbed the bull by the horns and started a thread, so here it is.

Personally speaking it suits me to have it on a Saturday, but it doesn't have to be in December.  If it suits people, we can look to have it in January.

So, who's in and what dates are preferable?

Good idea, please put my name on the list.

Might be nice to have something to look forward to post Xmas, but I do understand the counter-logic to this in that post-Xmas can be a bit brassic.

Um no, but my question is... If the Pirates are gaining in number that want to join the FB group, lurk here and order kit etc...

Why are the 'socials' such a massive fail? 10 people for Sheffield and...

Not many more for London at a guess.

Genuine question. I'm itching slightly from the Voodoo dolls already, but wouldn't intelligent people make a re-think?

Put me down. January preferred.

There you go, nail your Christmas colours to the wall... In January, that well known month where everyone is skint. Those two posters above have no intention of turning up to anything. Have they yet?

28/10/2013 at 18:36

I am happy with January so long as it does not clash with my running club's post Xmas meal, that is always held in January because more people go then than in the run up to Xmas when busy and skint.

KK, you are wrong as I met Soup Dragon fairly recently at a social do, and I look forward to seeing her again.

Arranging social events is a never thanked for job and trying to get people to put names down, agree dates etc, etc is horrid, I know I did it for a few years when on a committee.

I think it's fair to say that KK was bound to jump on this thread - given her apparently pathological hatred of the OP's involvement with pirates, kit etc.

Schmunks I'd love say yes but I'm afraid that i'm going to have to decline for the same reason as Shefield's social - the impact on family, training and financial commitments.

Cheers to the Bala and Nice socials that I will be attending.

... and it might just be my birthday

28/10/2013 at 18:59

If I can't say something nice about a person I won't say it at all so that thankfully stops me stooping to KK's level with a sarcastic response.

Looking forward to meeting up with you again too Steady. And Schmunks.

I'll put KK back on ignore now.  As you were.

Do witches have more than one birthday - you know, a bit like the queen?

Ok, I am making an executive decision....

It's going to be a PSOF Christmas social. It will be in January when work do's and family celebrations are all done and dusted

I would add as well ... trying to come up with a date in December that fits all is likely to be a non starter !

I think we should have one with that title every month

Well I'm going to go for a drink in London. And I'm sure Golden Boots will join me (if only because he can at least finish a drink!). This will happen in December.* If anyone wants to come and drink with us - and lets face it why would you - drop us a message. I'll try and round up people who have expressed an interest.

*Probably more than once.
