I'm just thinking I do know one guy who could possibly be of help...

..and I've got a bum with no natural padding on it as it is!

You may be surprised KK I find the less padded ones WAY more comfortable than the squishy ones.

KK, 220 magazine is a nice one.

However,  I would ask your doubts in here. There are people of every single level in triathlon. From semi-pros to crazy lunatics that cannot swim or bike but had done an ironman. Some of these guys have years and years of experience in triathlon. And they are very friendly stuff.

Bike is very important in triathlon so don't buy one untill you know the type and size of bike you need. Get one borrowed and practise. You willl realise what you need (larger or smaller frame, different type of pedals, a lighter or heavier bike....etc.)

I mean wtf else don't I know?

It did make me laugh....

KK - i would recommend the Triathletes Training Bible 2nd Edition. We have it and have found it really good. Available at Amazon i think.

Garr, you talk a lot of rubbish, of course i'm strong, i am in fact a wall of muscle. i am currently taking a break from the forums to work as a gladiator in the new retro series (minus ulrika jonsson).

KK - you should talk to Duck Girl - she did an ?Ironman from very little experience i think and did rather well - even riding her shopping bike !

Shes pretty fit and a little bit mad tho

me, on the other hand could get all the "right" gear but none of the endurance .....

Yes DG was 3rd woman home in The Longest Day - it was full IM distance and although the legend says it was a shopper bike it was a road bike with straight handlebars

Which also happens to be her shopper and everything else bike

lol.. although to be fair the longest day womens race doesn't have the strongest field.  three pensioners, a paraplegic dog and an out of date can of tesco own label baked beans.  the beans did quite well, considering, too.

i just thought an Anti-Ponce view to Ironman might be interesting

Don't know about anyone else who may be lurking on here but I am learning loads! KK I am still in wonderment at your nutty-ness! re Mags.. I subscribed to 220 but am not overly impressed. Its very much like RW and probably only has half a dozen pages of any real value. The rest is all about elites and adverts! You will learn far more on here. Save your money and blag read copies from mates!

Well at least it shows I'm not the only one, candy I would be quite happy if I managed to beat the beans, after all, no-one wants to be behind anything full of beans...

I ordered a helmet today, it was in the sale and they only had one size. Well, does size really matter?? and guess what the best bit is?..... It's gold and black

Just walking the dog, I had a long serious talk with myself. Mr kk calls me a magpie because I am drawn to pretty, shiny things. I really am going to have to fight hard not to be influenced by the colour of the bikes I try...

PSC - I've just got 3 issues for a quid.....

Oh Mr kk and I talked about turbo trainers, it's a good idea because of the kids and when he's on call, it'll take up most of the living room and I'll be so close to the tv that it'll look like widescreen, but cycling in my dressing gown and being done by breakfast appeals to me...
