Well, last day of 2012. It's not been an easy year in the kk household, but our blessings far outweigh any of the other stuff.

And I'm sitting here with a dress with owls on it.

And also looking forward to NYE in my own home. I've had some very memorable NYE over the years. I've been kermit the frog, slept with a bikini designer, bush jumped in Australia, fallen into things, fallen onto things, fallen out of things, moved house...

I must be getting old because the thought of going out to a crowded pub turns me cold.

The bush jumping sounds exotic, it wasn't. I was just in someone's back garden jumping over a huge bush they have. It was hilarious at the time.

Right I've just sent out one of my mini me's to find out what time my neighbours are showing up. It's between 5 and 6, so I'm betting we might not see midnight.

Also I'm in my element in providing the food. I actually love cooking when I have the time, space and money to do it. I never follow recipes, just make it up.

And I think mulled wine is on the cards.

We were running along one of the forest trails and suddenly this rather heavy set fake tanned man came running towards us, he was naked apart from running shoes, multicoloured pants, yes pants, and fluro gloves.

It was such a sight that I kind of opened my mouth before having any idea what would tumble out. 'That's certainly a New years resolution!' WTF did I say that for?! Under very laboured breathing he replied "Yes it is".

I salute you multi-coloured pants running guy. He probably saw an overdressed woman running towards him wearing sushi on her head. (I've mentioned my sushi running hat before).

I'm glad he had the sense to keep his hands warm.

Oh, happy new year btw. I am going to cook: stuffed pork joint, red cabbage in balsamic vinegar, peppered and buttered leeks, mushy peas, apple and cider sauce, and gravy.

Followed by an orange and cranberry pudding.
