Is this a mad way to start?

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm looking at names on there and I have an idea that the female winner is going to be quick. I would quite like to train specifically to smash the relay, but we don't need to decide yet.

Agree, we've got time... And we did smash the relay, just with not enough boy bits

KK - I've got the night run out of the way, now I'm planning on increasing the bike and run sessions, then I'll do an aquathlon or two before the Ilfracombe Tri.

Don't beat yourself up if you don't come first or second, remember why you started running - FOR FUN.  Having said that part of the reason I gave up was because I couldn't match my previous pb for the same course....

WS take a look at Plymouth tri too, ow swim

I think I've just been offsetting a bit of work stress this weekend. It was the right decision for where my head was at to go for a long one with fur face yesterday.

Completely bokers in work, didn't get a lunch break. But I'd rather work through lunch than have things that need to be done hanging over my head.

D is on lates, so this week I go into work early and try and get home a bit earlier. When I got home and saw thing 1 in her tracksuit talking about the trip to the beach she'd just done, I though cudos daddy for remembering there was a trip on.

Only to be told by thing 2 that daddy had completely forgotton and had to pick thing 1 up from breakfast club to come home and change.

Let's see if he remembers that thing 2 needs to go in dressed as a kid from WWII tomorrow

LOL KK I keep forgetting what trips my two monsters are on, I've now told them it's their responsibility to remember!

I'm saving my first tri for Sept, I hit the half century a few days before the Ilfracombe Tri so thought it a good celebration, I haven't told Mrs WS but I plan on having a curry in the Gurkha Restaurant after the race (if its still there).  I will do at least a couple of aquathlons and duathlons, open water would be best to get me ready for Ilfracombe.

Am I mad if I say that if I do an OW aquathlon (swim/bike?) I'll see if I can make the legs work for a couple of miles just to see how it feels?  I hope to do a brick training session down by Maer Rocks if I can get Mrs WS to go along, mini tri training session

I want to come to the restaurant, I curry. Come join our OW training sessions when they start up again at Teignmouth, very friendly and well attended.

I'm feeling the need to enter something, I don't know what yet...

You know I've always fancied some sort of martial art, but being a complete beginner I'd probably be stuck in a class of 5yr olds.

I'm a definite for the relay KK. We will have to have a think about a third.

Hi KK, think I'll need to start OW soon, Mrs WS pointed out the Castle to Castle swim at Falmouth - she said she'd enter me in it.

I think I'd best check if any extra insurance has been taken out  - I can swim (just) but that is 1 mile OW !  Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth OW training ASAP here I come

You will get to a mile, but yes OW swimming is very different to pool swimming. There is a lot of opportunity (obviously) down here to sea swim and different groups going out on different evenings etc.

We really are beginner friendly with OW when the season comes around, rather than just saying we are!

I was going to post this on the Q&A thread, but didn't want to ruin it more than you already have. You wonder why people don't like you/stop talking to you/delete you from facebook/stop posting on the forum. It's hardly surprising when you're rude to people and behave like a child. I wasn't going to waste my breath, but you always seem to say exactly what's on your mind, so I thought I would too. No need to reply.

Dear Points of View,

Blah blah blah blah.

Disgruntled from Tumbridge Wells.

(Sorry Tumbridge Wells, you do come in for a generic kicking, but it's nothing personal. You're just being my scapegoat for people who really care about the Internet and what is written and following their own inflated sensibilities)

Also 'no need to reply' means nothing. I do wonder why people write these vacuous phrases.

I'm just going to post this which I put in the FB group, because I always am transparent:

I think we're all entitled to our own opinions and it used to work because we could joust and accept that we disagreed etc... Now there is a culture of running to RW Towers and complaining. And there is a small group that are determined to get me off there. I don't know why that is such an important objective for them, just put me on ignore if you don't like me. Ultimately if they suceed I would also suggest that no-one is indispensible or more important than anyone else, but it does make the place more bland. We've lost so many individuals as it is, the person on my thread that suggested that it's all my fault is wrong, I'm talking in a much broader context than her little circle of 'online friends'

I don't mind people not liking me, no problem with that. I just don't get the 'precious' have to complain to RW because I haven't got the balls to talk to the source.

However it's an online forum and there are rules in place. If it's that important to you, you can report people who break the rules. If the new people in charge want to uphold that sterile environment, I will go with good grace. Shame though as I've been posting much longer than some of the people reporting me for being such a bad influence on life

All I need to know in the morning if I can't post is:

  1. No-one died
  2. No-one was called Hitler
  3. No-one posted a cat pic that looked like Hitler

If the answer to all 3 is no, I'll be very disappointed at my Internet suicide leap.
