Anyone else signed up for this? From the same people who brought you Helvellyn, which was a real blast.
Using the landing jetty sounds worryingly like a dive-in start job
I'm signed up and it's my first race with an open water swim.
Nervous doesn't really cover how I'll be feeling on the day .... especially if it is a dive-in start !!!

Only 4 weeks. Jeez - Derwentwater will be fecking cold. Lakes local to me (in the Peaks) are running at about 6degrees at the moment - not much time to warm up!
The bike is a reasonably flat road route, the run is a 6.3 mile '8km' fell run over Walla Crag.
Looks fun.

My first OW swim this year . I'm trying a neoprene hat covering my ears to try to avoid the usual chunders - I'll be the one looking like a black condom.
Just chucked the bike in the car Will be driving up in a while..

What a great event. My first OW swim tri and I'm not sure I'll ever do a better event! The organisation, marshalling etc. was top class, and the location absolutely stunning.
Definately one for next year. Though I think I'll have to get entered early once word gets round how good it is!!
The pint in The George afterwards was good !!
