Suppose not Cougie hadn't thought about that. Still gives me lots of time to do more training for the next one!

Thanks Richard I am going to do the Reindeer run in December (I live in Wales) but am not a big fan of off road! I hate mud reminds me too much of school cross country, which was a time when I would do anything to avoid running.

Mackem - Primera new forest i did 1 of early this year - tough course and a good field (i was very nearly last) but good overall

Taa Godzilla. Actually on the site they have last year's results and it looks like the October race is a lot easier/shorter. think I might go for the Hyde Park one though - easier

They have amended the results and not only have I gained 5 places overall, i have also gained 2 female places to make me perhaps 5th!

Was sorely tempted to go out and buy myself a bike on saturday after the event so that I can improved... but had to remind myself that apparently I have other targets first... but next year I will do more than 2 training sessions on the bike before the event!!

If you bike the 10k rahter than running you will be quicker.

Well done, everyone, and well done Spans on your two teriffic runs! Unfortunately, my cold decided to migrate south, and I was in no fit state to do much at all on Saturday, so another DNS for me. I was gutted because, with all the hill training I've been doing, my cycling's coming on in leaps and bounds, but I'm aiming to enter another duathlon towards the end of the year - maybe the tough one on Boxhill.....

well done everyone. Just out of interest,could people post their race numbers; on top of taking a fair few pics of Spans and Zilla, i've got 120-140 pics of other athletes from the challenge race! So if you spotted a bloke with a pirate top on the side of the course, limping around with an SLR camera, i may have possibly taken your piccie as you whizzed past!

Mackem - I've entered the Hyde Park event but given my knee injury, i'm not sure if i'll be able to compete..:-(

The pics on the web site are good too. Difficult to decide which to have now!

My race number was 574 If you have any of the steep hill it was probably me pushing the bike up it!!! lol

I am going to have to look for a decent bike for next year. forgot to tighten the suspension on mine and I spent an awful lot of energy bouncing around!! Still lessons learnt!

ML poor you with your knee. Hope it gets better soon x

Did anyone write down the official distances for the Challenge event on the day? The 1st run was about 11k, the bike about 21k etc. There were some accurate measurements at the sign in desk but I didn't record them.
The web site dodn't help much - it says the 2nd run was 21.8k!!

The first run was 10.9k the bike was 21.8 and the last run was 5.1k I am reliably informed by my other half who was spectating and overheard it mentioned. Apparently it was ok because it was within the 2% difference (I am assuming that that was of the overall difference!)
