The guys who run the Bridge Tri in Dartford have come up with an interesting IM distance event in 2012 - an overnight event starting at 6pm and finishing at 11am.

Midnight Man

all for £160 and post-Olympics

I'd be tempted by this formula at that price

and no - it won't be no 6. I've retired.

It appeals to me, so I've registered my interest.

Short retirement?

That's the one I mentioned before, closed roads - good, night biking- good, divorce on the cards - err, not so good

Would have been interested if it wasn't just lots of laps.  18 laps on the bike makes me feel dizzy

The more I read it bizarrly the more it appeals to me though and I have no idea why??!  It may be because this morning I just happened to be trying to find ultra/running races that go through the night.  Anyone know of any??

Have a search for Kent 24hour challenge. Usually starts around 6PM I believe and you can run as many laps as you can manage in 24hours.

FB - there is also a night time one starting I believe near you, cycling the southdowns way at night and a marathon ending in salisbury.  A friend from the gym is doing it.  I would expect him to be at the pointy end as he races pro anyway

that's X-man dooze - know all about that one as the swim's in GWR. I'd have been tempted by that 10+ years ago but it's too big an ask for me now with that ride and run, and you'd need to be at peak fitness for it and I CBA to train that much. you also need to be self-supportive as there are no aid stations - that will catch a few people out I reckon.

I quite like the format of Midnight Man but am not entering - I'm retired don't you know...

I'm just popping out to get a paper Petal.........won't be long

Even though I'm not racing IM next year,  I seem to have registered an interest in this!
