New Forest Middle Distance Tri - Triathlon

Anyone up for a 1/2 IM distance race in September ?

The unwanted and spare entries for this race go up for sale on Monday on the race New Forest website. This race is similar to the Swashbuckler which a few pirates did this year.

The Middle distance race has a much more scenice bike route, but has a pretty tough off-road run though.

run course has changed slightly and includes a 1in 4 hill

I'm defo hoping to improve on last year - esp on the swim and bike sections.

I had best get running some hills, Is the rest of the run course similar ?

Yeah, T2 has been moved, and you join the main loop from a different side now. Probably a little easier to be honest

I might be up for it.

I start a 51 mile ultra (sussex LDWA) at 10 am on the Saturday so should be done before midnight; gives me plenty time to get along the coast to the New Forest. What time do they allow racking until?

So T2 isnt at Sandy Balls anymore ? So its still teh ~mile of road and then the run across teh heath land to the middle loop and back ?

Is teh bike route the same ?

No, T2 is in the field where parking was just down from sandy balls. You run out of there and towards Blissford and pick up the Forestman loop at frogham. It misses the road out and the up and downs at the begining but adds a couple of others in!
