What can I say, I remember thinking that the alligator puppets were very realistic, then I found he used real ones. Must be the only person ever to get alligators to act.
Joe 90 (plot nicked later by Clint Eastwood film Firefox), UFO (first to use the noise for star warsy type weapons, years ahead of its time), Captain Scarlet (rear facing driving for cars, much safer, as in the Spectrum SPV, by TV screen too. Multiracial actors as well.
So much more. Thanks Gerry.
FAB, Gerry. Much missed.
My uncle was the camera man on Thunderbirds!
The genius behind the alligator shots?
Gerry had the flat above my uncle when my uncle lived in London hundreds of years back.. I have some signed Stingray stills he got me after they met up years later
Thunderbirds are go! Pleasant childhood memories - he brought a lot of enjoyment to many.
Will they show any repeats on the tele, or better still release a whole load of box sets, for us to wallow in nostalga.Thunderbirds was my favourite followed by Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet, for some unknown reason Stingray I didnot like much.
My 3 boys had thunderbird dress up costumes when they were young.must dig out the photos as its bound to embarress them now
SteadyCJ: My son has the entire Thunderbirds boxed set (all 8 DVDs) so it does exist - we got ours off EBay, as usua!
