ITB, I've been in Ireland.  Water was 9 degrees on day 1 but warmed up to about 16 by the end of the 9 days.  You could feel the difference each day

My geography isn't great, but is the Dove close to Derby?  I believe there are swimmers that go in there on a regular basis

I've just been in Thorpe sans wetsuit and it was lovely and for once there were more people without than with.

EP I'll be at Market Bosworth with my new hat too, also sans wetsuit

I saw a pirate hat at Heron this morning, sans wetsuit for me next time in, it was boiling.

Noz depending where you are you might find these interesting. http://www.madswimming.org/events/mad-open-meets-only.html

If your a conpleate novice you might find the 1500 race a little challenging but it's a friendly race and cheap. Good experiance to get you in the mood.

Manley Mere said 24 degrees yesterday - no wetsuit ban though. Some nice cold patches to swim through which helped.

Kate, the pirate hat wearer in Heron this morning was probably Trogs. The water was lovely without wetsuits.  Although the gunge collection in the swimsuit was a bit

Who knew there were so many floaty bits.

I ended up with a goose feather as well as the weedy stuff last night and couldn't work out what kept prickling me!

Unless there was another there before/after us. Definitely too warm for a wetsuit
