Hi Seren

No.  I've done loads of sprints, standard distances and three halfs over the last few years.  Thought it was time to step up.  As I'm getting older I seem to do better the longer the race.  Also feel I'm getting more for my money by being out there hurting longer.  Perverse logic I know.

So how do I become a Pirate then?  Often see you guys at races and you always seem to be having a laugh.

we just get hold of some kit and have a laugh............no official joining  or fees etc..just have a sense of humour..........might be worth reading

a kit order has been just done so not sure if there is anymore being done before outlaw.but if you hang around you can always borrow if you want to wear the black and yellow

I'll wait till the next order thread.  I'll probably race in my Tri-Anglia kit or my GYCC bike kit this time round.

Anyone camping at the Outlaw?

Is there an after race party?

Important stuff.

How far in advance do we need to book camping?

you just turn up nursey, unless you need an electrical hook-up which I think you need to book in advance.

I think Pirate corner will be bigger and better this year

04/01/2013 at 12:56

the sunday is the race isn't it......you need to stay for the party on monday and then go home tuesday

04/01/2013 at 14:04

Yes it's the Monday that I've booked so I don't have to leave before the party this time although fingers crossed my car doens't break down at the last moment this time.  Colurin' and Steve Ho were nearly missing a swimmer!

I've not been in here much as it reminds me I need to do training ... but now it's the New Yr and all, time to get down to it.

*waves at everyone*

So what are the numbers looking like for this year, is it going to beat the amount of yellow last year!

I thought  I saw about 30 at least early on and hopefully there will have been more  before it sold out. It was very yellow last year , I will be there again but for the first time in the yellow and black when my kit arrives in a few days!!!!!! thanks in advance kit fairy!

Just back from a 3000m pool swim.  Todays training done.  As I'm feeling so virtuous and pleased with myself I think I'll reward myself with a cold beer

Im back again IP, this time sub 12.30 is on the horizon, couldnt resist the constant waves on the run course. Really pulled me through

You really should be training now as though you are doing it, you won't be able to play catch up if your 6 - 8 weeks behind unless you have a good base from last year

Sounds likes it's going to be good again this year then

55 miles on bike for me today, long run tomorrow, don't know how long depends on if I have a happy knee or not.

06/01/2013 at 11:52

3 hours on the bike this morning, despite tweaking hamstring during yesterdays long run.  Not happy.  I struggled with hamstrings most of last year but thought I had sorted it out.
