Happy New Year to all my fellow nutters. I've not been on the forums for a little while but have some training to get myself into so thought it time I got back on here for motivation and to read and learn.

I'm doing the half, is there a separate thread for that or is this the place to be?

Happy new year.

First post on here. Been "lurking" for a while.

Just done a 1500m TT swim as my first 2013 session toward the Outlaw!

Hi Hag..........have you done IM distance before

03/01/2013 at 17:11

Hi Seren

No.  I've done loads of sprints, standard distances and three halfs over the last few years.  Thought it was time to step up.  As I'm getting older I seem to do better the longer the race.  Also feel I'm getting more for my money by being out there hurting longer.  Perverse logic I know.

So how do I become a Pirate then?  Often see you guys at races and you always seem to be having a laugh.

It's not really a club mate just a butch of folks who muck about. If you want the nice kit there is a kit thread on here you can order stuf through and a young lady called Scmuk's will done the leg work. Just remember to get her a pint in when you meet her. link for the thread

Linky for the pirate website thing. Basically it takes all sorts.

I'll wait till the next order thread.  I'll probably race in my Tri-Anglia kit or my GYCC bike kit this time round.

Anyone camping at the Outlaw?

Is there an after race party?

Important stuff.

Will be a few people camping me for one. As for the party I will be very surplised if there arn't a few light sherries after in some form or anouther. There is a bar on site and a supermarket that do can's nearby. Would be rude not to.

How far in advance do we need to book camping?

you just turn up nursey, unless you need an electrical hook-up which I think you need to book in advance.

I think Pirate corner will be bigger and better this year

I've just booked the days off so I can stay for the Sunday this time

04/01/2013 at 12:56

the sunday is the race isn't it......you need to stay for the party on monday and then go home tuesday

04/01/2013 at 14:04

Yes it's the Monday that I've booked so I don't have to leave before the party this time although fingers crossed my car doens't break down at the last moment this time.  Colurin' and Steve Ho were nearly missing a swimmer!
