that makes a 1:30 full......not sure about middle of pack.but definitely not near the end of the pack by a long way.race day adrenaline etc ( as long as you enjoy open water ) should make that faster again
looks like it's back to the drawing board with the swimming then....
Am sidelined with a chest infection for 1-2 weeks, very frustrating as week 1 of plan went really well.

That's rotten, Holgs. I've just been grounded for 3 weeks with sprained ankle - he was very strict and told me to RICE at work (in whose reality is that??) At least I can still swim and turbo, so will try to keep to Fink and just swap running for turbo. At least one part of my anatomy might benefit from increased saddle time ...
Good luck. Were you shown how to tape the ankle to support in on the turbo?
Turboing may still be painful for the ankle. I did something similar in Sep and turboed for 4 weeks, and didn't run.
You can tape your ankle up to provide some more support so it doesn't hurt when on the bike.Sommit like this. I just used normal sports tape.
Hi crazy crazy people,
I havent been on here for a while (as if I do it makes it REAL that Im doing the Outlaw)

I think you have mistaken us for Tritalk
OK I hope everyone is looking fit
Born blagging it
8 weeks down 22 to go.loads of time
Might be doing this.
A friend put our names down on the standby list and she only remembered to tell me a few weeks ago. She phoned last week and it looks like we'll be offered places. It's her first so I agreed I'd tag along for the trip .
Due to me tearing my calf muscle last Oct I haven't run for months, except for a ill considered lung busting xc last weekend , and I don't intend running much on it before July.
I came into last years event on the back of 10 weeks without running so this year should be even less pretty, if that can be possible!
Looking forward to seeing you all there, and especially the celts .
I hope Lee can make it again
I'm in! First long one... 22 weeks to go you say - loads of time! I was training for Forestman 2 weeks earlier so I've won some free fitness!
22 weeks to go and I've hurt my right knee to go with the calf tear I'm recovering for. Not the ideal start is it!
think I need to face the fact that I am not going to be up to running the marathon for this - really sorry to be letting trogs and happychap down, but better to face up to it now than closer to the event. But given that I haven't really been able to run for 3 months, and still not running, then there is little chance I will be in shape for a marathon in July
so - I will become part of the support crew instead
Need to let trogs and happychap know though - anyone know where on the forums they hang around?
think I have managed to message trogs
VT'd - thats good news! It will be good to see you again - as well as having some one else there to keep Seren in check!!
rafiki..........you will not see me....i will be racing so will be locked in my tent in preparation.....meditating and doing my visualisation techniques for 48 hours pre race........
