I wouldn't worry about the bike... the way my training is going I will be running twice, the first time will be 112 miles closely followed by a second stint of 26.2. I still haven't been out on my bike this year - too cold, too slippery, too much of a big girls blouse.
What's a "hot tent" Matt? Sounds like the pirate on-site team sauna is sorted then

+1 for not having ben outside on the bike this year. Also not enjoying the wet/windy/snowy weather. Have been busy with training (Week 18 starts for me tomorrow - still a bit ahead of the Fink plan I think). Reading Half Marathon last week, and building up to my HIM test (http://www.galeforce-events.com/triathlon-events/bedford-middle/) with a 74 mile Sportive (http://www.galeforce-events.com/cycling-events/spring-challenge-sportive/) - this is all starting to get a bit real now.
Anyone have any advice on wetsuits? I have a very basic 2XU suit right now (T0) which has seen better days, and am thinking of hiring for a couple of months. Anyone able to recommend a good suit hire place?
Was there talk of a recce in a couple of weeks time? Im trying to decide on riding / working the Motion in Mercia sportive but I have a note on my plan that there was a plan to recce the ride and possibly even the run on the weekend of the 6th/7th April?
Can anyone point me in the direction of the right thread? ta
i like shorter laps for ironman personally.....more support on route...off to look for the email
I read it that the "change" was only for the Half? two laps instead of three?
i didn't get a email so maybe the emails only went out to the halfs
shorter cycle & run laps would be nice ........
say like 56miles & 13miles but still call it a full outlaw
how is everyones training going?
i am a bike goddess at the moment....but there is a distict lack of swim and run training
They have taken the Run route PDF down from the full outlaw site and the interactive run route is currently disabled
training going well finally after all that snow and a cold that lasted all winter!!!
I am thinking I might make it to the start line this year after the ignominy of withdrawing last year.
First long run today of 13.1 miles after a PTTD injury about 6 weeks ago and so far so good. Didn't do a single triathlon last year (and therefore didn't really spend any time on here either) and am quite a bit behind where Fink says I should be so have some catching up to do in the next 12 weeks.
If you've done a 13.1 mile run you can't be that far behind plan, my longest so far is 7.
I followed Fink Intermediate for IMW a couple of years ago but I am not hitting the hours this time around. I have done 9 hours last week compared to Fink's 12 1/2 so quite a bit short. Just need to get some longer bike rides in and if I can repeat todays run to work once a week going forward I will be happy enough. Doubt I can get out for 4 hours this weekend though. All a bit haphazard with no real plan.
Doing okay. 15.5hrs last week. 8.5km swimming, 120miles bike and 27miles run. First time I have been injury free in 2 years and I'm enjoyin it! Recovery week this week which is driving me mad.
