Hello all,

Just a quicky about accomodation for the outlaw. Can you camp onsite? is it better to try and get room in a hotel or b+b?

Thank you

Yes you can ..... and the second answer all depends on how good you are at camping !

I'm planning on the camping option. Sounds like it will be a right laugh before and after

Campsite very close to race start/finish so ideal if you are a good camper.

In fact the camp site is closer than the car parks!

If you fart at the campsite, you can smell it at the start, it's that close. But I prefer hotels!

I wanted the convenience of the campsite whilst OH wanted comfort so we're hiring a caravan!!

Dustboy, did realise you were that fussy about where you pass wind

Do you need to register or anything if you intend to camp?

Only if you want an electric hook up

Last year you could just roll up and camp, no need to book.

I e-mailed them and this is the reply

"Electric users do not need to pre book space for Camping, Costs 1 person £9.00, 2 persons £13.00 or a Family £14.00 per night."

Nursey, I wouldn't trust that completely! If you want an electyric hook up, I would suggest booking! And then I'll be round to charge my phone up - unlike last year when I charged it from the car and flattened the battery

Might be more accurate and informative if what I cut & pasted was what actually appeared in my post.  And if I'd double checked it .  Once more, from the top

"Non Electric users do not need to pre book space for Camping, Costs 1 person £9.00, 2 persons £13.00 or a Family £14.00 per night."

That's more like it - but where the hell am I going to charge my phone now!! Have to rely on Seren...she needs electricty for her wine and beer fridge!

Do you think we could get away with saying we're just one big happy Pirate family and only pay £14??

29/01/2013 at 10:14

We ran both fridges last year, and foolishly taking the lap top with us my OH booked a holiday in Prague whilst I was faffing around on Saturday afternoon !!!

I have yet to decide whether I will be an electric user.  But I can't see how I'll get through the weekend on warm wine .

it takes dedication and a lot of practise, but its worth it in the end
