Pirate outings in 2014

For those unaware, these are the Pirate Championship locations so far:

Talking of which, I think 'Pirate Championship' is the most valid reason to call 2015 the 10th anniversay.

Lets make a call and say Austria 2015 then?

Just to add my 2p for what its worth 2015 should be the anniversary race, I know the idea was born in 2014, but the first "race" in kit with a big group was 2015.

I have still do to do IMCH and its well documented why I couldn't do it last time, but that's something I'm probably going to do by myself.

I feel it should be a "branded" event as that's what it all came from.

I have only supported at the big outing, but will hopefully be competing at the anniversary event, whichever and whenever it is

With regard to Austria sell-out speed I entered IM Austria 2013 as part of a group of five locally and I was worried about us all getting in due to the reports of it selling out in minutes. We were ready and waiting with credit cards at Midnight or 11pm or whenever it was. The reality was we all got in fine and they didnt put the SOLD OUT sign up for a good couple of days. And that was after all the 70.3 and previous years voucher entrants had grabbed their places.

I think thats the a good point Sweetfeet, we've been through this a few times.  As you say, provided youre there waiting when entries open (or have an entry fairy) then you shouldnt have trouble getting in.

Ive not known anyone who'd been dissapointed if theyve been there ready.

I may have to take a year out in 2014 ... but will be back for 10th aniversary race in 2015

I would say 1st week in July 2014 if we're going for the 2015 event.  im guessing it will be about 500 dib dobs (unless the whole euro experiment has self combusted)

I'd rather do Austria that Switzerland; Worthersee was orsum for the swim, the bike was quick and the run course was much less confusing than at CH. Did they not also have a finishline announcer who announced a certain pirate as "Aleeson Asshole"?

Oh, and GOM can buy Mrs G an eternity ring...

I dont think it has? id doubt it ever will be, its an enormous lake.

Thdy'll always find a deep slightly chilly bit if we ask them nicely!

I'm hoping I can sail in 2015. It gives me a bit of time to save, train, and for the kids to be 2 years older (daughter will be 9 by then ).

Austria would be nice - spent some time there for work and Klaggers is nice in the sun. Potentially get the whole family out there.

right.2014 can be a rest year for me and save for 2015.....my kids will all be adults so maybe my hubby can come........but knowing my kids probably not
