Who is this mythical Alice and where would I contact her? Assuming I'm fit to carry the colours...

Couple of pirates spotted at the Marshman tri yesterday.

who was that then??

we weren't wearing pirate kit for the race but had the hoodies on pre-race. you should have introduced yourself. how was your 1/2? we did the Mini this year having done the 1/2 the last 2

Sorry FB, I would have but I was knee deep in water when I saw the hoodies!

Enjoyed it. Did 6:02:36 after a predictably slow swim, overcooking the bike and blowing up on the run. How as the sprint? I didn't see any PSOF entries.

ah - that might have been a bit difficult then! we were racing under Team Lifestyle.

sounds like you race a 1/2 like I do....

we had a good Mini - I won a/g and 30th overall; Petal won her a/g and was 60th overall - 99 finishers. some problems with signage and masrhalling on the Mini run so some finishers didn't do the whole run yet got prizes which has caused a few rumbles! (we did run the while course btw)

at least the weather was the kindest of the 3 years so far - but with the usual predictable wind to contend with.

See what you mean FB. There are some mighty impressive 6k run splits there

Congrats to you and Petal. That was my first half. Bit of an education. I did the Marshman sprint as my first tri last year. I was hooked from then on.

Spotted a pirate on the live feed from IM Lanza on the run leg (about 45 mins  ago),  any idea who's racing over there today?

Might well have been G Sport, he likes Lanza

Ironholgs spotted today having it large at the St Annes Tri!

35mph cross wind, torrential rain, blowing sand - not a single complaint (that I heard while marshalling anyway!)

Nice one, Holgs!

Are there any pirates in the Bucks area? I'm sure I've seen a pirate zipping about on his bike in Aylesbury.

Sarah - if definitely male, then maybe Barley could have gone that way in his long distance training?
Otherwise, Meldy or me and poss a few other female pirates aren't far away.

staying with my gran at Burnham, watching the burnham-on-sea triathlon from her window. i saw some numpty running along in a cylcle helmut (i thought that was a tri-myth till today), to be fair to her it was raining. anyway, as i put down the binoculars (gran keeps an eye out for tourists getting stuck on the mud flats, so she says) after confirming it really was a cycle helmet, i saw a pirate racing at speed, and shouted out the window. looked a bit fast to be a pirate really well raced.

A pirate ? At speed ? Thats a rare one. You should get extra points for that JD.

I've just googled to see what the outlaw looks like and images comes up with a pirate : http://www.flickr.com/photos/marks262/4902328936/

...I am thinking of patenting a special sort of mask that prevents damage to my monitor when someone makes tea come down my nose.
