Seren's right.  Both of us know from ordering buffs that you can always sell many more than you order, particularly something low cost like water bottles.  Once people start seeing them they will want one (or more).  The only issue is stumping up the initial finance for the order and I'm sure some of us can help with that if you're not able to find that much cash.

i see, didn't realise seren was speaking from experience then.  sorry.

ritio, well we can order some more then that's cool.  finance is fine given they only need a deposit to place the order.  i can pay the balance from the preorder monies if people pay up a couple of weeks before delivery of the bottles.

i'll look at the shop bit now.  looks pretty easy to setup.

okey dokey, well if payments come in advance then i guess we can order more.  lets see how many sign up in the next couple of weeks.  with past orders of stuff i've seen people show lots of interest expressed at the outset but when prices are confirmed people aren't so keen!  so i don't want to overorder too much.  but i guess the bottles are cheaper and more useful day to day than a pirate monaco so perhaps that won't be a issue.
I think I could've sold twice the number of pirate swim caps

96 bottles by my count

JD - I am more than happy to pay in advance.  Just tip me the wink

Farnie - can you give me the heads up should you do another swim cap order (I believe you mentioned earlier that you were thinking about it)  Cheers

Just a thought and realise there is a big problem regarding the cash but is it worth while setting something up with hollywood or someone else to bulk buy caps, bottle, buffs etc.. Then have a stockpile handy throughout the year for when newbies or people who missed the boat realise they are there or want one? Mentioned Hollywood because of the ordering for the hoodies and stuff?

Personally wouldn't mind if to cover stuff Holly or whoever took a profit margin so that was practical for the hassle.

cake - when i strated this i envisaged ordering whatever was needed plus 50 max for future.  that should cover the pirate needs for this year.  those who join later will have to just look enviously.

when you get desperate enough to do an order next year Cake I will pass on the details........

the minimum buff order was over £1500 and when it was time to order we only had names down for half of them.......

a kindly pirate offerred to pay for the balance so that we could go ahead with the order............as it turned out I didn't have to take advantage of their kind offer as they all went within a month or so............as soon as the word got around and people saw them then they all went.

I'm fine paying up whenever you want JD ? And I'd round the bottle cost up just so we overpay rather than underpay.

Is it worth asking how scuff resistant the printing will be ? Most bottles have been fine, but some of the ones I've used lost their design very easily - I think Foska was like that for me.

I know the La Santa and Ironman bottles keep their print on though.

Cheers !

thanks cougie.  i'll round it up slightly.

i'll check about the skuffing you mention.  it looks like the design is done with a film wrapped around the bottle.  the bottles on the site look pretty tough though.  also, if you subscribed to triathlete europe and got the free bottle (that's what got me thinking about it as every bottle i have is branded differently showing my individuality), it's the same people we're getting to make ours.  read a website that just said look on your nice bottles and see who made them.

actually the cervelo test team made teh nicest bottle i've got,  but i couldn't track down the maker i think.  or they needed something like 5000 ordered minimum which is a few bottles beyond us.

ah, i've only just signed up so a bottle is what you get now.

did a bit of googling and it seems the bottles are basically SIS bottles.  so that's good.  but i can't find out much about their printing.

I had a cervelo bottle in a goody bag from a sportive, lid broke about the fifth time I used it. My SIS ones have lasted forever though (with regular Milton-ing!)

JD - these bottles are a great idea.

I tell you what I would also like if you need more ideas and that's a decent Pirate branded sports bag. The IMCH bag I got was great for about 3 months and is now falling to bits so if anyone is with me on this, I am happy to find out more and try and see what can be organised. I have a feeling they can be bought and branded Pirate but also each with a unique name on the side i.e. your name! whoopy!

Only comment I would have is that I really like the SIS rubbery made tit-thing you suck on () rather than the horrid tasting plastic ones? Are these ones rubber or plastic, do you know?

Not a huge deal but would be great if rubberised.
