Hmm, Ealing. Hillingdon cycle circuit near Hayes. RP if you fancy a flat ride but it' snot bad fayre after work. Plenty of canal stuff, plus the Thames, plus Bushy on Saturdays.

And Surrey Hills not far away, which are minorly lumpy.

I feel a Newlands ride coming on....

Its easy onto the canal network from ealing, and down to richmond park... hope you enjoy London, I am going to miss it.

Hi SE - I was wondering how you are settling in.  Fancy joining us for a swim at Shepperton this Wednesday?  Its a bit of a trek (Thorpe is much easier) but apparently its a good lake.

Hillingdon cycle circuit have a tough training session on Thursday evenings that the local tri clubs use. A Newlands ride would be good Dustboy. I was thinking along the same lines.  On Sunday mornings starting from Village Plants at Denham (just past Uxbridge) a number of cycle clubs meet up for a long bike ride through the Chilterns.  I think you can just turn up and ride for a first week or contact Willsden cycle club for more info.  They are too fast for me but my ladies club starts with them and does a shorter slower ride sometimes.  Seems a friendly lot.

Bushy park has a brill park run.  The first one to start and the biggest. Its fab.

Slow - how easy did you find it to find a place and make the move. I will be moving in a few weeks (OK I'm already in London but barely, plus I don't know anybody or where to live or anything) and am now looking for somebody/people to live/move in with.... pity about the timing!
