I know you're just down the road but you're in a different Local Health Board area to me.  To some extend it's luck of the draw.

Aneurin Beval LHB even has physio walk in clinics...

interesting topic - i got a bone sticking out the top of one of my shoulders, the MC joint i believe, hurts like anything sometimes and restricts lateral movement, think i might pay a visit to my GP now after reading this. I live out in the countryside so i may have to make do with a vet

I was going to see a doc earlier but wanted to get the Vit over with incase they have to operate, which if you saw it i think they might

Oh, another good cost cutter is if you want regular sports massage but are put of by the price my local FE college does a sports massage course and you get a 90 minute session for £11.

Well worth it...

"Choose & Book" only covers England, not Scotland or Wales.

Doner K...  visiting a Vet is risky...  they put animals down with broken limbs!

My physio is my OH...  not cheap though!  Now doing a sports massage course - felt it might be benifical!

Your GP can still refer you to any hospital I think. Not many referrals are done by choose and book even now.  For some reason the 18 week target doesn't apply to Wales (not sure about Scotland) which is a bit odd.

Student massage is a good top tip - thanks Cam.

'Health' is devolved to those governments.  Why should English targets apply?

my GP cover assurred me that the targets aren't in wlaes and neither is the option to go to another hospital...............in certain areas you can only be refferrrred to your local health board .all other referrals will be refused....

I went to a&E earlier this year with my  roken toe............went to the closest open in the evenings  8 miles away............I was treated but had to wait for an extra hour for a copy of my Xrays as that hospital would not do my follow up appoitment as wasn't my in health board............I had to wait until the next day to phone  and get a follow up appointment with my health board at a hospital 14 miles away
