Cake - you wouldn't have been on that list as it was a list of penalties handed out by the BTF refs, not any data on DNF's.   of the 5 DQ's, one was for abuse of officials in registration, one caught urinating in public (unlucky - that could have caught a few out reading the reports!!), the other 3 I don't recall.  loads of 2min penalties for drafting and a few other time penalties for various things

The other three were for dangerous riding, I think.

Oh, apart from the one for inappropriate dress (the guy in speedos & crop top), although he may have been reinstated later.

The Funkins took a picture of the penalty listing.  There was (originally) also a DQ for insufficient clothing, but I did read (on one of the Outlaw related threads) that this had been reclassified to a time penalty

yeh - he was originally DQ'd for that (rulebook now says you can't have more than 10cm of flesh between the top of the bottoms and bottom of the top) as it's "illegal equipment" but he seems to have won an appeal I guess.   he should have been DQ'd on "fashion from the 90's" grounds....

Seems a bit anal considering they didnt have a problem with my mate and her i wear nothing under the wetsuit so will be nude in T1 prob Faris Al Sultan and Phil Graves are fans of the bugie smuggler look personally it looks bloody uncomfortable plus i dont have sufficient cojones (or the rest of the equipment) to carry it off

RBM - it only applies to those racing under BTF or ITU rules and that's decided by the event organiser.  WTC and Challenge have different rules and Faris and Phil Graves tend to race in those events so aren't confined so much.

if you look at elite and GB age group kit, they are now all rear zipped so you can't bare your nips and are designed to avoid the muffin rolls being seen.   it's partly a sop to the sponsors who want their logos to be read without a bloody big zip going through it or having someone's knockers distract.

Got to admit that guy gave us a laugh every time he came past!  Thought it was a girl to start with and then realised it was a bloke.  Mr TST wondered if he'd left his stuff at home and had to borrow his girlfriends knickers!

Did anyone else see the lass running holding her Ipod, and with headphones in her ears?

( and No it wasn't one of the non racers, as she had a race number on )

He did look a bit odd but hey, it's his choice. Personally I couldn't handle the chafing but he seemed happy enough with his clothing.

As for the poor soul who got DQ'd for urinating in public, wrong place wrong time it would appear. Prob about a third of the field were guilty of that at some point. Bad luck!

I wasn't hallucinating then....phew.

The "alternative lifestyle" brother in the 2-piece looked cool. And he was a very tall guy, so (addressing the members of the jury) this decision to DQ was blatantly "heightist" on the basis that the same kit would have been separated by less than 10cm on a shorter torso. The defence rests its case, M'Lud.

There was also a guy wearing Oakleys with the headphones built in. I could hear his music playing as I passed him. Tut tut

There's urinating in public.... and urinating in public. Degrees of indecency.

I suppose facing the riders asking them "what do you think of that?" could be perceived as worse than going behind a hedge to urinate!!!

yep.  I'm sure that most people who did go in public did so behind a hedge or  undergrowth of some sort so at least tried to not be seen.

I've DQ'd someone for peeing - rather than walk 20m to the toilets outside the transition area, they peed up against the fence of the site owners - one of whom saw him doing so and reported the matter.  there was no other option.

I've caught a few guys peeing in transition - I usually give a strong verbal warning and delay them going out onto the bike or run.  that's enough to usually stop them doing it again.   getting them to stop mid-flow is usually interesting as well - it can hurt.

I don't think many people would argue with FB if he told them to put their little chap away.

Talking of rules, I still like the fact that Jodie Swallow once had to change her kit as her breasts made the sponsors logo to big.

Didn't know that - that's class.
