Yesterday's IM-distance at Roth was raced in blistering sunshine and Aussie Chris McCormack made it three wins in a row, beating Faris Al-Sultan by 2 mins and 37 secs. He won it on the mara!

Macca 46:53 4:26:25 2:44:54 total 8:00:52

Faris 46:23 4:22:02 2:51:30 total 8:03:29

Our clubmate Stefan (M35)in his first attempt over the long distance finished in a great 12:01:50.

Don't forget NZer Kieran Doe who came third and was leading the swim until the kayak took the lead pack in the wrong direction.

And then there's Jo Lawn, four time IMNZ winner who romped home in her first Roth.

Edinburgh Triathletes registered some good times, including an 8th placing in age group.

Just a little - heading back for good in September and that's where I got bitten by the tri bug.
Two of my claims to fame include the aforementioned Kiwis - got chatting to Jo Lawn at traffic lights in Taupo while both out on a training ride (she soon dropped me!) and I got into my wetsuit next to Kieran Doe at IMNZ.

I heard Macca had a puncture, does anyone know if this is correct?

Yep Fogggy, he punctured at 110km and lost 5 minutes on the lead pack, so without that he could have been well under 8 hours.
