My sister has just taken up triathlon using a knackered old bike bought second hand over 20 years ago. In true piratey spirit she racks "Ermintrude" alongside the thousands of dollars worth of bling belonging to the Aussie tri elites, and has been known simply to hurdle cars parked inconsiderately out on the bike route.

In honour of this most excellent pirate spirit could anyone possibly spare an old monaco or bike top - the smaller the better - to encourage this brave soul along the long route to ironman glory... eventually. I can't afford to pay much but am willing to beg if it would help.

No spare kit sadly - have to make what I've got last forever at current prices! But just wanted to say that "Ermintrude' is a bliddy great name for a bike! Hope she has it painted on the bike somewhere, preferably with some go-faster stripes

Waff, I have one of the racing back Pirate tops you can have. I usually wear the Monaco. It's a small.

Good on her!

Should my bike have a name?

Thanks Hope - that sounds perfect. I gave one away last year thinking I didn't have a use for it. Duh!

Hen - your bike should have a name if it has character.

Mine's called Oscar because he's a Giant OsCaR. I like to ride Oscar hard.

Mine's called The NIB and it's an acronym in honour of my mentor

Just as long as he doesn't appear baring all.

Thanks Hope. I'm more muppet than pirate at the moment so all help and motivation is gratefully received. At least I cut out the hurdling (doh) on this morning's Australia Day Tri!    pirate

Waff - I have a Pirate Cycling Jacket that is just too short for me. That's up for grabs.

Anyone else got a small race back tri top? Elastic has gone on mine and they seem to be hard to get on the kit order.
