I'm sure I'm being remarkably dense...but... What do all the dots mean? *runs away and hides*

You mean the one's people put in their forum names? Usually after an M or an O? The Ironman brand has the 'M-dot' logo, so the dots mean they've finished an ironman race. Some put just one, others one for each finish. Others don't bother.

Or do you mean the ones in Seren's posts, which are completely different, at lleast after the first few.

Dots.....?

What dots?

Others add iron to their name (Iron Goblin?)
Or ultra to their name when they do one of those

Do you mean my dots or the ones in the forum names .........one is easier to explain than the other

I did not bother with dots in my name as I did my first Ironman in 2000 long before this forum got going and chose my name then to represent my two main interests - triathlon and my dogs, which people often mistake for wolves! The prefix Bionic is a recent addition after a titanium hip implant operation.

I just have a stutter when i type

Well if you have just done Outlaw, you can be Go.blin Princess?!

14/07/2012 at 16:37

I've opted not to have a dot after my m even tho I could, but I have gone for OX as its a bit like the outlaw logo on it's side.

I thought the OX was something to do with your eating habbits during training

Now I am intrigued as to the reason for all the extra dots

DK, inspired! How long are you going to keep it that way?

I like the principle though. I can't wait to see management's faces when I start signing off client emails as Em.ily!

I still feel like I haven't completed this triathlon and I'm jut a bit of a fraud, maybe adding excess punctuation would help it sink in... (I do like a 'dot dot dot'!)

Are there ultra ironman events or do you mean ultra runs OC?

There are double and triple IMs, even a DECA - 10 x IM

but most people put ultra in their name as they have done ultra runs

ta seren

How come you are not ultra ultra ultra seren....?

How come Im no longer O.C....

You can only have so much punctuation
