Shiny new kit..............

............for open water swimming!

I have just bought my very first wetsuit (online) and cannot wait for it to be delivered!!  Basically have started doing some open water swimming and the cost of hiring a wetsuit is a bit much for one or two sessions a week, so have bit the bullet and ordered my own today (base level, fairly cheap) and I'm SOOOOOOOOOO excited about it.

I am aware that this is pretty sad.  Being excited about neoprene.....not really right is it?

Does anyone else get really excited about new kit, or is it just me.....?!?!?!?!

I think we all do ...especially stuff thats coming from wiggle so you can see if they put a bag of haribos in as well ...

you bought your 1st wetsuit online??  how sure are you that it's going to fit properly??

a badly fitting wetsuit is a) uncomfy and b0 won't help your swimming

Sorry to dampen your excitement, but FB is right.

Have you managed to try one on?

Maybe she ordered the same make she's been hiring???

plus it can always be returned if its not 100%

not always possible to try on exactly the bargain you find online before hand

Barley - what about that S5 you need for Nice??

I have tried a couple of different brands on and the one I've ordered does fit, so it's all good. But I do appreciate what FB and Wilkie said.

I ordered mine online .gave them my height and my weight and they sorted me with one..going strong since 2008 but a bit big now where it has stretched......but still good for practise swims

Never thought I'd get excited about swimming....................!!  Always been a runner in the past but injury has meant a change in exercise type so it means a whole new load of kit.......
